    Re.6:17 (1 of 2)

    Day Of The Lamb

"For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"(6:17)

In Psalm 2 we read that a day is appointed for the Son. " Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion./ I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."(Ps.2:6-7). For this reason we find the kingdom of his dear Son mentioned. (Col.1:13-14) On the other hand we have the day of Jesus Christ or the day of the Lamb. Is there any difference between these two names? Yes there is and it is as a ram is different from the lamb when God 'tempted' Abraham. (Ge.22:13). In order to understand this distinction we shall study the seven days in the creation account which ends on the seventh, and he sanctified it. (Ge.2:1-3) Thereafter the Spirit takes up the narrative of a holy family beginning with Seth and according to the predetermined counsel of God, "And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." (Ac.2:47) God sanctified the church which shall be heirs to the kingdom of his Son. "Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:/ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:/ In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.:(Col,1:12-14) The Lord found a ram caught in a thicket shall meet the occasion so we are looking at the holiness of God and who 'will have mercy on whom I will have mercy".(Ro.9:15-18) Seven indicates wholeness and perfection. The seventh day consequently denotes the Salvation Plan of God right on track till the Son says, "It is done"(Re.22:5)

The Holy Spirit gives us similar sequence when the Lamb is found worthy to break open the seven seals and it is about judgement. For this reason we have the seven angels with seven trumpets setting the judgement aspect of everlasting gospel which side by side keeps rolling in.
