Here we shall first discuss the pit and the bottomless pit. With the expulsion of man from the garden he was condemned to return to the ground from which he was taken. King of Egypt represented the beast. From King Tyrus to the beast of the end times they shall war against the testimony of Jesus Christ. Jesus died not for himself but for His saints. "For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God."(Ro.6:9-11) For the saints redeemed are those who died but alive for ever. "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
John the Baptist did not do any miracle as Elijah or Elisha did. But he is considered as the greatest in the world of the body. "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."(Matt.11:11) John did not care to follow Jesus. Here we see typical witnessing from the world of the body and from world of the Spirit respectively.
