    Ze.3:8-10 (1 of 2)

"When I make up my Jewels"

The angel of the Lord is promising Joshua and it is for our understanding how we should approach it."Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou and thy fellows who sit before thee; for they are men wondered at. For behold, I will bring forth My Servant theBranch."(v.8) The branch refers to the order of Melchizedek and their qualifications to serve as high priest belongs to the new order even as the Lord shall shake the heavens and the earth, so the new temple is altogether different in quality, "And I will fill this house with glory, saith theLordof hosts".(KJ21)

Joshua as a representative of the Branch is exhorted to follow the instructions, "If thou wilt walk in My ways, and if thou wilt keep My ordinance, then thou shalt also judge My house, and shalt also keep My courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these who stand by." The righteousness as a Garment we have already seen from the Parable of the Wedding Guest is issued freely, "I will clothe thee with change of raiment.' The next vital point is often missed, and it concerns 'among these who stand by.' These are the 144,000 who have stepped in the breach of the Levites. The believers to all intent and purpose are the Gentiles belonging to the left behind church are the priests and kings of the new order. Their iniquity has been blotted out by their intense suffering and by God's mercies.

There is a temple building program under way in heaven even while he and Zerubabbel the governor are spearheading the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem. This is what Haggai speaks of events on the ground. "Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith theLord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith theLord, and work: for I am with you, saith theLordof hosts:/According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not.(Hag.2:4-5)
