    Ze.13:7-9 (2 of 2)

    "The Refiner"

The Spirit has been creating a sub-text,- a parallel account of the righteous nation right from the creation of Eve, while historically Israel went whoring after strange Gods in the time of kings and prophets. Significant is the v.5 in the same Malachi chapter. "And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers,". Thus when he sits as a refiner it simply means that his work with Israel is not quite done with. (4:17.)

Let us refer the Book of the Revelation: Now offering of Jerusalem is considered as in the days of old for the group we find in this passage:

"These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb./Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them."(Re.7:14-17). Before this in vv.6-8 we have the left out church redeeming the lapses in the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem.

High Priest Joshua in Ze.3:2-3 "is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?/Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel." The 144,000 represents the sons of Levi.' (In the vision of the Woman Clothed with the sun (Re.12) she was given two wings of an eagle, Prayer and Praise and these preserve through the period of tribulation.) The great tribulation is not one single event but as with the Salvation Plan in the will the Spirit has been creating a parallel narrative, which is from the standpoint of the Son. This remnant of Israel is quite distinct from the 144,000 mentioned above.
