"And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be."
We came across the living waters in the vision of Ezekiel, "but now it was a riverthat I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in-a river that no one could cross.6He asked me, "Son of man, do you see this?"(Ez.47:5)
This is a vision and it figures in yet in the vision of another far removed in time. We shall compare Ezekiel with John who sees the holy city of God. "Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river.Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruitfail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuaryflows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."(47:12)
"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb./In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."(Re.22:1-2). We see trees of righteousness in both cases and these are for the healing of the nations. These visions are connected by the river of time and it began its journey from the storehouse of God, where the waters above the firmament signifies the mercies of God.
