Ge.2:2 "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made."
What is the significance of the seventh day? This is the day "This is the day the Lord has made." (Ps.118:24) Without the mention of the Son whose fulness is totally invested in it what shall this Psalm quote would lead to" An epicure shall make of this clause "We will rejoice and be glad in it," as license to justify his pleasures without any restraint. God is clear, "You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You."(Ps.2:7-NKJV) This decree is what we have examined in the Ch.1. So now is the day of Salvation because the day stands for the Son in whom all things consist. Col.1:16-17 .
The Abstract that forms the chapter puts all things,,"that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him," does not take to another interpretation. Heroes of faith despite of some egregious personal faults double in the narrative for him. God divided the light from darkness.(Ge.1:4b) When the angels of God confronted Jacob he called the place Mahanaim. "He said, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim."(Ge.32:2). The Spirit elliptically explains its significance when he divided the goods for Esau who was coming to meet him. He made ensure that he and his family were secure while his gifts of appeasement did its work to send him away. The distinction between children of light and of disobedience continue ever since God willed there can be no concord between light and darkness.Similarly in the revolt of Korah brothers, we have a separation, "Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.(Nu.16:24) the Spirit warns us,"And what concord hath Christ with Belial?" (2 Co.6:15). Either Christ or with Belial and there is no middle ground.
