    Ge.2:8 "Eden"

"And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed."

No one has located where Eden is actually but it is no matter. Fellowship of God with Man has an address for which the Spirit has only supplied the Garden as a reference point. The Son represents for us the Man component in the Fellowship so he is assigned Eden as the word of God says, 'The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool."(Is.66:1). Treat it as the kingdom of the dear Son and it explains where our blessings come from.

"And a river went out of Eden to water the garden." This river is associated with Jesus Christ which is how the Spirit has added details to the blessedness of the children of God. In the colloquy with the Samaritan woman he makes clear,"but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." It is provided by the grace of Jesus Christ. In the preceding verse he makes a distinction of the water issuing from his domain to the world of the Sprit, the garden and the water at the Jacob's well. " Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again." ( John 4:13-14) The world of the Samaritan woman may have as with the rural life revolved around the village well but receiving Jesus Christ as the Messiah changed her life forever. Her thirst that was never by sated by water she daily drank from is evident, "The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw."(v.15)

The Spirit instructs us that Adam's world was special because God had planted the garden in his Son for Adam and Eve. Everything pertaining to life and godliness was on the house to want some useless advise from the serpent.

The truth of the matter is the river beginning at this point shall continue to the last chapter unbroken. (Re.22:1) This pure water of the river of life also serves as the river of time about which the entire God document is fleshed out.
