(in Response to Glenda's comment) Jesus never mentions anything about being brought up to safety in the Ark; rather he speaks of who is taken and who is left. "(38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, (39) And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (40) Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (41) Two [women shall be] grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (42) Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." Verse 39 is the key verse to explain, in Jesus' own words, who was taken and who was left, and clearly it was those who were NOT ready for the flood who were taken, by the flood itself. If we were to apply this to the Coming of Christ, then logically we would have to come to the conclusion, based on these scriptures, that the church will be saved at the SAME TIME that the wicked will be destroyed. However, the pre-tribulation doctrine preaches that the saints will be raptured out, before the Beast and the Antichrist even sets up. Therefore, it is literally impossible to conclude that Jesus was talking about a pre-tribulation Rapture in Matthew 24.
