"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
The above verse seems to be in contradiction to itself. "But will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it"??? ". A way to escape" SO THAT "you will be able to bear it"?. If God provides a way to escape why do I have to bear it? Either I have to bear itemptation OR I am given a way out. It can't be both. So what's going on here.
Although all translations, not just the KJB, say the same thing, even grk Bibles are of similar interpretation, let's see the grk:
"...alla (But) poiesei ([HE] will do) syn to peirasmo (together with the temptation) kai ten ekbasin (this can be translated as "and the result/ outcome", etc ) tou dynasthai ymas ypenegkein(to make you able to bear). Lets sum it up, "But together with the temptation [He] will give the outcome(something that will have an outcome in your struggle) to make you able to bear." The verse implies that God will give you the tools/strength to bear temptation NOT a way out to free you, as it is seems.
Well, I may be wrong here but this is how I know it.
