Thus the year must be reckoned in terms of the Word which was with God in the beginning and eternal nature of Jesus Christ who is the Messiah, describes his ministry, "he Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised," This is in conjunction with preaching. The Sermon on the Mount (Matt.5) is to be seen as the Mission Statement. By the same token His 'woe to you' discourse must be treated as his repudiation of the nation of Israel. "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate." Matt.23:38)
Now he is seated 'down on the right hand of the Majesty on high' upholding all things by the word of his power helps us under the passage from Isaiah better. Is.61:3-7) "And the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn" is yet to be fulfilled.
Jesus stopped reading at the right verse, not reading the rest, as you noted. The day of vengeance will come at His second coming. But in His earthly years, He was the Anointed One to bring the good news of salvation in and through Him to all nations.
