Ps.124 "In the name of our Lord"

"If it had not been theLordwho was on our side, now may Israel say;/If it had not been theLordwho was on our side, when men rose up against us:"

This song of praise acknowledges the Lord God who shall not withhold any good thing from those who fear Him. "For theLordGod is a sun and shield: theLordwill give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."(84:11)

'Our help is in the name of theLord, who made heaven and earth.' (v.7)

The first two lines state the enmity of flesh against the Spirit, 'where men rose up against us' for reasons obvious in that God a Spirit has made a common cause with a nation whose walk is different. Their upright heart has instilled fear and hatred in the ungodly. "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name."(91:14). This name is what connects us to the Lord God where the time as we know it has no bearing. It is not that we chose him but He set his love upon us. "Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not." This name is what our soul represents.(1 Pe.1:8). From the Parable of Laborers in the Vineyard, we have agreed upon our hire charge, did we not? Now the question is how well do we know him?

"Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:/Then the proud waters had gone over our soul"

Proud waters going over the soul explains our struggle with wickedness in spiritual places. The kind of online bullying in our times which do kill the vulnerable kids in their teenage explains how Satan shall use our very own strengths to fell what we cherish most. That is sin which rides along the world so world so the progress of the ungodly comes at a price. Soul of the unwary is forfeit in this unequal war. 'Blessed be theLord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our help is in the name of our Lord who spared not his own Son for our sakes.
