" For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:/But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Superscription refers to this well known psalm,"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."(Ps.91:1) We show mercy to one who is in need of help and we are to do it secretly. "And thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly." This is what the word of God has promised. In 5:23-24 Jesus tells us, "Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;/ Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. God knows hypocrisy from far off. God called you to be a good neighbor and no to be the judge.
The Spirit uses shadow as power to heal as the shadow of Apostle Peter healed people.(Ac.5:15) How well do we abide under the shadow of his wings?
