Matt.6 25-33 "Solomon in all his glory"

"Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?/ And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:/And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."(vv.27-29)

Wisdom of Solomon and lilies of the field have one common thread. These have arisen from the Wisdom principle of divine Will.God blessed man and his world alike so their growth follow a cycle from seed to its death. so does man. His breath however made man a living soul and consequently freedom of choice undid much of glory that God had shed on him. "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."(Ep.5:17). Proof of it is in the ships that he assembled at Ezion Geber. and it was a waste of effort in the end and Jehoshaphat .(1 Ki.22:48;1 Ki.9:26-28)Solomon further elevated Jeroboam who proved an enemy to his own son and caused split in the kingdom of Israel. (1 Ki.12:19) "unto this day" sets the split in direct frame of reference to Jesus Christ who of God has become wisdom to us. Eye of faith in He.12:1-2 instructs us why the glory of Solomon did not excel. His heart departed from God.

Lilies in the field shall not be guilty of such a failure.

Instead they instruct man perennial objective lesson as to the glory of God, as the discourse of Jesus teaches us.
