I'm lost and empty. My only child, a daughter, left home three years ago, took all my money, and no longer talks to me. I have no family or friends. I moved from my home state to care for an elderly man I thought was my friend. He said I would have my room but when I got here there was no room for me. I came to help him and he said I would have room and board but then he changed his mind and wanted me to pay half of all the bills and still care for him. I sleep in a recliner in the living room. I got a job and work and pay half of all the bills but he still expects me to do all the cleaning and cooking. I can't move out because I have no money. What I make goes toward the bills and there is no housing here. There are waiting lists and to get on a waiting list you have to pay an application fee. I also got bad news this week. I have scoliosis, and the doctor said without an operation I wouldn't be able to walk or stand soon. I can't have the operation because my job has no benefits, and I wouldn't be able to pay my bills if I were off for the operation. I know others are in bad situations, and I'm not asking for anything, but could you pray for me to get through this and for God to guide me? I know God is with me; I just need to find the strength to make it through. I'm just asking for a prayer to help me make it through all of this and to guide me and give me hope that this is not a hopless situation. Thank you.
As someone else advised please look into your available local social services. Additionally, you may qualify for Social Security Disability payments if you are facing a difficult health situation. Call SS and appraise them of your situation. These are some practical steps you can pursue.
You may wish to also begin visiting local Bible-believing assemblies (churches) where you can make your needs known to them and hopefully receive both practical help, spiritual encouragement and the friendship and sense of family you long for. Perhaps someone there may even offer a room for rent to you.
If we feel trapped and helpless in our situation the sense of depression can smother and defeat us. Taking definite action to resolve your situation will make you feel better and give you hope that there IS a good way out of this predicament.
Most of all, keep your focus on CHRIST and your heavenly Father (I trust that you know and follow JESUS). Determine to begin each day in GOD's Word. You may wish to begin in the Gospels, reflecting on the life of CHRIST. Read at least one or more chapters every morning regardless of how you "feel". Reading in the book of Psalms (a book of prayers in the Holy Bible) will also encourage you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to use His Word to give you the strength and spiritual hope to face each day. Please make a commitment to doing this without fail. You will regain a sense that CHRIST is there, knows what you're going through, and will walk with you through this.
You are in my prayers, sister! GOD bless you in JESUS' Name!
"Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you..."
Hi Filina, looking at this beautiful response of love, I would say you still have your brothers and sisters in Christ. I also pray for your healing physically, mentally, emotionally. Remember we are praying for and with you, Matthew 18:19-20 reminds us that a group praying for the same, God hears and does respond.
Jesus Christ bless you, Filina. You are never alone my friend, please don't feel like you don't have family or friends. Jesus is your friend, your family, your heavenly father. Jesus is all you need in this life. You can always talk to him, and he will listen it may not seem like it but God has plans for a future for you! Trust in Jesus's timing because he always delivers at the perfect moment he is perfection and he hears you . Stay strong until the end, even in your worst days praise him because he is always great! Matthew Chapter 6 verses 31-34 read, " Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
That's very unfortunate. It's important to know that the family you create is more important than the family you come from. Know that the Bible has brought me piece of mind, It's God's word. It will bring you piece of mind as well, for the Bible itself is a weapon against the wicked and the wiles of the devil.
Know that God has a plan for each and every one of us. Based on your story, I'm sure that you're a very wonderful person, and even Satan himself knows better, God allows us to experience this terrible pain and suffering so we can learn and grow stronger.
Remember that Satan HATES it when you find peace and tranquillity, he hopes that you suffer inside that prison for the rest of your life, but remember God will show you the way out, you must trust in him, even if you don't know what his plan is, and we never do!!
Filina, I am truly sorry for what you are going through. I am praying for your healing, comfort and miracles, for Jesus Christ to bless you with. Thank You Jesus Christ.
Hi Fiona , I'm so sorry for your circumstances , it's horrible to feel that you have no control in your life . Try not to allow your circumstances to overwhelm you , God sees you and He knows your troubles . If you back is in such bad shape then I'm sure you can get some help from the government with support and housing etc , you need to check that out . Sometimes things that seem bad can turn out for our good . Maybe because of your health you will be able to get your own place and get some financial help from the government . Do you go to church ? Say your prayers ? Read your Bible ? Draw closer to your God and you can be sure He will draw closer to you . Thank Him every day for His mercy and generosity towards you . Check out Social Services and find out what they can do for you , you have to be prepared to ask for help and be honest with people , only when you tell them your troubles can they help you . Don't panic , don't give up , trust in your God , He will give you the courage and strength that you need to come through this time and into a better situation . Be brave , God is with you .
