please pray for me I want to have a true personal relationship with Jesus but I don't know how to I not sure if I'm saved or not, I've been baptized but I turned my back on Jesus and continued to sin and I always just sin and don't even realize it I need guidance.
Amen to what Brother S Spencer has said, the tugs of this world are strong. Our life is shorter than we see it when we are young compared to eternity. Life in this world is so attractive, the thrills when we are young or old and we question how it is wrong to do this or that when it makes us feel good and happy. If we truly love God, the gift He will give when we confess that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins is way more than all the gold and riches and happiness this world can offer us.
We must decide if today is worth what eternity offers and the gift that is waiting for us from a loving Father whose love is more than we can imagine. You can do it by wrapping yourself in the word of God and being around people who can support you and if you slip and fall, He is waiting and will gladly pick you up in His loving arms.
Mathew 18:20 says "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
A relationship with Christ Is not private, but communal, and the center of a person's relationship with Jesus is in the church. (Not necessarily the local Church but in the presence of other believers.
Read Hebrews 10:16-25.
We are to respond to his invitation and follow Jesus' example of how to live and treat others, giving him first place in your daily life.
A Desciples is someone who follows one's teachings.
In our rebirth Christ gave us his Spirit to guide us out of darkness.
Christ is faithful and said he will never leave you so your faith should be in his work on the cross not your baptism.
We pray to God for strength and wisdom and turn from the things that hinder us.
A Christian can not continue in sin!
God is love but he also is a righteous Judge.
He is rich in mercy forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty;
Our salvation hangs on God's promise once we have believed on his son, Christ Jesus!
Have you truly trusted him in his finish work on the cross?
If so we are persuaded to love his precepts the Brothern.
If you ever have the free time, I recommend watching eternal security by David Brown on YouTube. Salvation does not depend upon whether we feel saved or not. It is anchored into who Jesus is and what he did for us.
Hi Karma, I've been in a very similar situation. I was struggling so bad with doubts about my own salvation, and it scared me so so much. One thing that was a huge help to me, was realizing that salvation doesn't depend on ME, I didn't earn it, so I definitely can't lose it on my own. Salvation is a FREE gift, given by the Lord Jesus Christ, and it's very simple.
The Bible says we're all sinners, (Roman's 3:23) and since God is a holy and just God our sin needs to be punished. God loves us so much, that while we were His enemy, He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to come and pay for our sins. He died for all of our sins, past, present and future. But He didn't stay dead. 3 days later Jesus Christ rose from the dead, proving His sacrifice for our sins was accepted by God. Now He offers salvation to us FREELY, all we have to do is believe and trust in what He has done.
Roman's 10:13 says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
God made salvation so simple, that anyone can receive it. Baptism has nothing to do with salvation, praise God it depends on Him.
If you're not saved, you can be saved. You're living now, and the Bible says in John 6:37 "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." If you sincerely call upon the Lord, believing and trusting in only what He's done for you, He will save you. Simple as that. He won't cast you out.
Now is the day of salvation ( 2nd Corinthians 6:2). Romans 8:38-39 - Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ
If salvation is based on something that I have to do tomorrow or have to not do tomorrow, or based upon MY performance/works as a Christian, then there's no way to know ur saved because there's no way to know what u will or won't do tomorrow. If we could lose our salvation, we would.
But if I'm trusting solely in what Jesus Christ has done, that is fixed, settled, and final, and that is eternal security.
