Dear Christians . In case you didn't know , today is Pesach Sheni or , the second Passover . Numbers chapter 9 . One thing that I find striking about this feast/holiday is that it wasn't originally instituted by God . God gave it to the Israelites in response to their outcry of fear at being left out , unable to offer their offering and praise God along with every one else , due to ritual uncleanness . Also noteworthy is that it lasts just one day instead of the seven days of the first Passover . For me , this Pesach Sheni is a sign of hope , hope that you can always try to make amends and do what is right and acceptable to God , even if it's a bit later than it should have been , God doesn't slam the door in anyone's face and walk away . This second Passover us a full month after the first , God knows that we need Him and His mercy every day and He is very gracious in making Himself available and approachable . God is very considerate of us in our weakness and humanity . Through Christ our Redeemer and our Passover , we can have access to the Holy One of Israel . Praise God for His wonderful loving kindnesses towards us . Christ is the second Passover , bringing in the unclean ( us gentiles ) in one day he gave up his life for us , willingly . All things in the Old point to the New , this is why it's so important to read the Old as well as the New .

    Hey Jaz,

Amen, we sometimes overlook meaningful things, at twilight the beginning of the 15th.

    God bless,

Hi Brother Ronald , I did reply to you but it didn't appear on the message board but it's in the thread , weird . In case you didn't get it I said that you helped me realise that I have a big gap in my knowledge of all things Jewish . So I've signed up to a Jewish site to learn a bit more from them , I shared the web address and I think that's why my message didn't come up , still learning the rules . I'm enjoying their site but there seems to be a lot of ritualisation by them which I'm not comfortable with . I shall stick with it for now but I didn't realise how much of their beliefs is based on tradition and rituals etc . I shall be cherry picking from them . God bless you .

    Hi Jaz,

Thank you, I do not profess to know anything other than what comes from Scripture, not sure of the site you are speaking of, the Jewish teaching today may be different from what we read in the Old Testament. Every feast, every prophecy, and everything in the Old Testament points to the coming of our savior Jesus the Messiah/Christ, and the Jewish teaching today leaves that out.

What you wrote about the second chance was why I replied, some may feel they have blown it and give up. I just thought your post may give someone encouragement to repent and keep walking in faith and the Spirit.

What I have found that has helped me is to do a word search and read all the Scripture on any word like Passover, read the Scriptures before and after to take in the context, that will carry you through the entire Bible. We can do that with any word and see how that word is used in the old and the new. You can expand it to study the Hebrew word or Greek word and compare what English word was used in translation, there may be several different English words used for the same Hebrew or Greek word that also helps. It all is dependent on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

    God bless,

Yes Brother , you helped me to realise that I do have big gaps in my understanding of all things Jewish , so I signed up to a Jewish site and now get lots of tips from them regarding the Old Testament . I shall say what the site is called but don't know if it will stay in my message to you , it's called Chabat

It was a bit weird to me , to read an article about the second Passover and have the writer say all kinds of interesting and insightful things about it but be totally blind to the fact that it is a forerunner of Christ and his sacrifice , which enables us unclean gentiles , to approach our Heavenly Father . It took me a few seconds to realise exactly why he wasn't talking about that bit also I get it now of course ! Hope you are having a good day today in Christ .
