Once we begin to obcess about our body when do we stop? Many other Scriptures bear out the fuller meaning of this text, namely that we are not to pay absolutely no attention to our bodies, but that it is not the emphasis of our being. Think of the Health Care Plan from the American Government. It is as if some people believe the government holds their life in it's hands and live accordingly, in complete aquiesence to it's proclamations- "everyone will be insured!" So? You could be the healthiest, best insured individual on the planet and get hit by a bus, drop dead, etc. The point is made by the psalmist- "my times are in Your (God) hands." This is the heart of Jesus' message. Don't overly worry about your next meal or your clothing. God rained manna from heaven and made the Israelites sandals last for forty years. It's the same God, still watching over us, still giving our daily bread. We need only thank Him for that, then give our fuller attention to the finding and doing of His will. To that we should pay much attention.
