Ezekiel is prophetic and this chapter is figurative. Because God is writing to humans, he uses analogies that human's can understand to relate the emotions he feels. Here he uses adultery because most people know what that feels like. Subsitute 'idolotry' for adultery and you will know what God feels like. In Verse 2, the mother is 'Mother Israel', the two daughters are the house of Israel, then the house of Judah. They are two different houses, Christians and Jews. God doesn't like his children to embrace other religions, customs of other religions or to make compromises for any reason even in the name of trade or wealth building. He considers it idolotry. Think about diplomats who chase trade agreements. Think about diplomats who bow to foreign governmental bodies and change laws and social mores to accomodate them.
