  • Dennis Meyer on Psalms 19 - 10 years ago
I'm surprised nobody comments on verses 7-11. As I look at the meanings for some for some of these words like perfect, as in the Law is perfect. Some of the meanings are moral, complete, full, sincerely, sound, without spot, undefiled, upright, whole. (Sounds like our Messiah).
Sure, as His testimony is sure, meaning build up, support, to foster, morally to be true, trusty, turn to the right. (Sounds like our Messiah).
Right, as in His statues are right, meaning straight, convenient, equity, upright.
Pure, as in His commandments are pure, meaning beloved, choice, clean, clear.
Clean, as in the fear of the Lord is clean, meaning pure in a physical, chemical, ceremonial or moral sense, fair, pureness.
True & righteous, as in His judgments are true & righteous altogether, meaning stability, certainty, truth, trustworthiness, assured, establishment.
Righteous, meaning make right in a moral sense, cleanse, justice, turn to righteousness.
And as verse 11 says we are warned through them, and also by keeping them there is great reward.
As we can see these verses show us the moral character of the Father & the Son, so when we are to put on Christ wouldn't we want to do the commandments, the laws, the testimonies, and the statues. Just as Abraham did as stated in Gen. 26:5. And he is the Father of the faithful.
