@SOJURN. Four good questions. I have an opinion, but just that. Here goes. 1. Why did GOD put the tree of knowledge in the garden in the first place. Ans. Well, God created us to have free will. HE did not want robots, that's why he gave us a choice. To obey or not to obey HIM. 2. Why did God "cover our eyes" only to be cheated out of what God gave us by the evil serpent. Ans. Since Satan had fallen, he wanted to be sure the plan of God would be ruined by tempting the woman. 3. It seemed like we were set up to fail. Ans. God gave Adam and Eve a choice. It was not a set-up. It was God giving his creation a choice, which we know now that Eve was tempted, and Adam also did eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. 4. The same applies to your question No. 2.
