Essentially, it's a commentary on Plato, "agape" first being described by Socrates in "Symposium". And from "The Republic", those of us who dwell in the cave "know in part, and prophesy in part". The philosopher king is able to leave the cave and see the actual Forms, i.e. "that which is perfect".
