This is in response to Geneva 's question. The reason the thief on the cross did not receive baptism is because he was still under the law. Jesus had not died and ushered in the new testament. Scripture " a testament is not in force until the testator is dead. " The Lord directed us to be baptized in the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost. What is the name of the father, son, and holy ghost which are titles. There is only one Name given among men whereby ye must be saved. We are instructed in all things, whether by word or deed to do all in the Name of Jesus. NO WHERE in the Bible was anyone ever baptized using the titles, father, son and holy ghost. The apostles carried out the commandment of the Lord in the book of Acts by baptizing in the Name of Jesus. Please read Acts 2 37, 38. Receive and obey this truth.
