The beginning of the Bible is the beginning of everything. Many ancient Greek philosophers believed that the world and the universe had no beginning. Here is a really fundamental agreement between the biblical narrative and the narrative constructed by scientific cosmologists. It is so obvious that it is rarely noticed. Both narratives insist on a beginning. The order in which living creatures appear is also intriguing plants first, then organisms in the water, then creatures on land, and finally human beings. Another interesting congruence leaving one to wonder the extent to which the biblical narrative continues to influence scientific narratives on analogous topics. The chapter ends on a terrific metaphysical high point everything that God made is good.
