  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 10 years ago
Hello Anonymous, Verse 4 is talking about the first true Christians of the Church age. There was the apostles, Mary the mother of Jesus and the number was about 120 in that upper room waiting on the promise, Acts 1 13, 14, 15. Now after Peter gave them the answer on what it took to be saved Acts 2 38 you then read Acts 2 39 "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call ". Acts 2 38 is for everyone. After these 120 were filled in the upper room in verse 4 In verse 41 more was added to the church that day, Verse 41 "Then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls ". If you continue to read Acts, which is the beginning of the church age you will find many examples of people being filled with the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus Christ name.
