  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Matthew 10 - 10 years ago
Hello Robert I would like to add to my comment. Remember Jesus Christ if he wanted to could have killed everyone that crucified him, but he didn t because he had such a peaceful mission to do. He is our example of a peaceful mission. This is another reason why the Jews did not accept him. They were looking for a fighter, a messiah to kill their enemies and bring the Jews peace during this time. However Jesus let them know that was not his job at this time. This is why in Matthew 10 34 he was letting them know that at this time he was not here to bring peace on the Earth. In Matthew 10 35 this is talking about the conflict of truth. This is not a physical conflict. This is a spiritual conflict. The word variance means dispute or disagreement. There are disputes about what is the true salvation plan during this dispensation of Grace. You have disputes over interpretations of the Bible. Jesus knew that this was coming. If you read further down he was letting them know that whosoever receiveth him receiveth rewards. However, in the end the truth will stand. The truth is that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. The truth is that a person must follow Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. The truth is we must follow peace with all men, Hebrews 12 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord
