Bible Discussion Thread

Hello everyone, I believe this was a somewhat hasty decision by the apostles and even though it is said the Holy Spirit was involved in the decision it is unclear whether or not this decision should have been made or whether the Holy Spirit was saying Mathias was an apostle or simply a replacement for Judas for now. 1. What distinguishes a disciple of Christ from an Apostle is one thing that I am aware of and that is they are called directly by Christ himself. 2. Saul soon to be Paul is the only other person known to have been called directly by Jesus himself. 3. Mathias was chosen by the Apostles not by Christ and this being said if he were indeed a true Apostle there would be after Paul 13 which just doesn 't seem like something God would do. It surprises me this is not discussed more or I haven 't heard it come up more if someone has something the contrary or agrees I would love to hear what you have to say.
