    Hello Jessica and O Shen The viper is not Paul s past sins. God has already forgiven Paul for his past sins. He filled him with the true Holy Ghost and he was baptized, Acts 9 17 and 18. When God truly forgives you of your past sins he does not remember them anymore, Isaiah 43 25. Paul shipwrecked on an Island. He was gathering fire wood and the viper came up out of the heat and latched onto his hand. Paul did not go out seeking the viper or snake. The snake jumped up on him. In this instance God protected him, because he did not know. It also was a miracle that opened a door for them to stay three days with the chief of the Island and they laid hands on the sick and they were healed Acts Chapter 28.
