    Linage is traced through the father not the mother. However, God is the father and creator of mankind including David therefore Jesus does fulfill scripture. Ultimately, God is the father of David and the creator of the line of David. The genetic code God used in the creation of the line of David was placed in the body of Jesus so that Jesus could be born and walk the earth in the physical form of man. David retained his free will of making decisions on his own, but Jesus totally submitted his own will to the will of God. Therefore Jesus was sinless completely filled with Holy Spirit. The power of God was channeled through the body of Jesus so he could preform miracles like raising the dead.
