I 'm blessed at the conclusion of the story of Job, that I believe God refined His servant Job, proving to Satan that Job rather suffer with the people of God than to enjoy the temporal gifts for a season. However, after searching the story, I believe God knew Satan 's reason for appearing before Him. He knew why he was there. I believe He gave Satan a deal he couldn 't refuse, he took the bate, resulting in refining Job, and having more wealth than before, and evangelizing his accusers. Consider chapter 42:11 His children bemoaned him and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon Him. Sometime we use other scriptures to refute others, not the case here, I believe. God never told Job why the suffering. Read Deuteronomy 29:29. There are just some things God hasn 't revealed on this side of Glory. About the author: unknown-whoever it is the same one who caused Moses to write the book ascribed to him and we have seen come to pass what he wrote of.
