In principle however the intention is identical. The moral problem with christians interpreting Jewish scripture however is that many of the former also accept the authority divine revelation. So when Hitler excused himself by claiming that he was only doing God 's work, such christians are in a poor position to refute him! Especially when we also consider 1 Thessalonians 2:14,15 . . . the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: After some 2000 years of this kind of defamation is it any wonder that eventually somebody decided to take matters into their own hands with or without God 's explicit permission?
