Jesus endured the cross and drank the cup of God 's punishment for all mankind 's sins and died then rose again from death for us all. We are saved by our faith and continued confidence in Jesus ' finished work for us. Keeping the word of His endurance is maintaining a confidence in that finished work for you and trusting God to save you because of His covenant promise to do so. Jesus is once again confirming in this verse that those who hold on to their confidence in His finished work on the cross will be saved even from the hour of the tribulation period. He does not say that He will be with or guide or protect you through the hour as some are suggesting but keeping from the hour all together requires removal of the faithful believer before the hour can begin. It is not the patient waiting or enduring of US that Jesus promises to reward but our continued confidence in HIS endurance on our behalf that we KEEP the word of and for doing this He rewards all who do it with the promise of removal before the tribulation period starts. NOT keeping the word of His endurance would be to allow yourself to return to any false belief concerning His sacrifice for you. For example returning to a belief that keeping the law will save you would be an example of not keeping the word of His endurance. All who do this type of thing are excluded from His promise to be ruptured before the trib.
