Abrham and his sons were waiting for the city whicha has reliable foundation, They ware wealthy, have golds silver, and have many workers,huge number of livestocks etc. but they beleaved that citys and towns of their times were very corrupted in nature, loose the fundaments of GOd creation man kind and the earth, they sinned, live like animals instead behaving as human being, were sodomites, lesbians, so the city boys and and girls were loose their spiritual basement. So Abreham and His Sons do not like to habit like the City/town men of their time, instead they waiting the coming city whose the creator and maker is GOD. the right choice of the time and the right choice of this day. what are happening in big city's of the world today? why happening different waves here and thger in the world, because people loost their ethics of living as the word of GOD says, because of that more shaking of the people goes and continues, see the ancient citys, Nanawe, Sodom and gomora of Jonah chapter 1 and 3, genesis 18 and 19 respectively, and plase read also Micah chapter 6 vs 9 and forward, that calls citys for what the people habits in. Christians who live for people and GOD should live differently from others, live as light and salt in all citys of the world and waching the new city that has foundation and the builder and creator is GOD.
