By time we end our reading of the Psalter, we cannot count the number of times the Spirit has taught us to say, "Praise the LORD." That is because the very purpose for heart, body, mind and breath is so that we can participate with all creation in offering up hymns of honor and glory to the Great Being. Our morning prayers are part of a great concert of praise that includes the wistling of the winds in the branches, the breaking of the waves on the shore, the growl of the great beast, the chirp of the bird and the orderly turning of the whole sidereal system. When we makes the Psalms our prayers, we join with all angels and archangles, and the whole company of saints and martyrs in tribute to our Maker and Friend. But, as sinful members of a fallen race, our praise is unique. All of creation must wait in silence and we give thanks and praise to our Great Savior and Redeemer. Let the name of Jesus be ever praised!
