These seven churches are examples for us to see that 5 out of seven were failing the teaching from the get go. These 7 are in a some what circle and 7 is spiritual completeness. They still exist in their teaching and it give us an example to test the fruit of what we step into. 2 of them taught what God wanted to see and look for. I wouldn't worry about weather God knew if 2000 years later if candle sticks exist or if the English translation is exceptable for the name of a church. Point being, 7 churches and seven angels. God wrote this Book to enlighten and Christ gave it to John to give to us to learn.
