Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature? Verily I say to you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! Wherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. It is of the LORD'S mercies that men are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. And, the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commands all men every where to repent: repent ye and believe the gospel that your sins may be blotted out.
