    V. 56 - " ... and rested the Sabbath day ... "; this was still the dispensation under the law. The New covenant didn't begin until Jesus ascension. Actually there was a space of time when several things happened that signaled the end of O.T. law: Jesus' crucifixion, the vail rent (that vail was 4" thick btw, Jesus appeared after 3 says, etc.
