    (16-19); "..Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways..and the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people.." Avouch - attest, authenticate, certify, testify (to), vouch (for), witness. It has become a strong custom to turn the things from old time into symbolic meanings to relate to ourselves today; but the Israelites were going on factual events.
