"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right." Ephesians 6:1 In the context of this part of the Epistle on the subject of Submitting ourselves to, and honoring and loving one another whether it is the married couple, the parents and their children, the servants and their masters, the community and their rulers the measure of our love for Jesus and our obedience, is in how we walk in truth and love toward those in our most ordinary relations and everyday life. Every kind of relationship whether with family, friends, neighbors or strangers, we need to learn their important relation with our walk with God, and should be regarded as the way we will actually do what the Lord says. If we read our Bibles, attend meetings and fellowship, witness to others, we don't want to be a "Street Angel, and a Home Devil!" In other words, appearing to be a devout and holy Christian outside the home, but a terrible selfish monster toward your family at home!
