This is one of my most lovely portions of the bible because the psalmist is giving us a wholesome assurance about FAITH IN GOD.

God is closer to us more than the air we breathe. We need Him to sit down, stand up, eat, speak, comb our hair, laugh, smile, cry, blink our eyes, walk, we need God to do everything. In Him we live, work and have our being.

We can only achieve this by praying every time in our hearts. This is referred to as SPIRIT PRAYER (Meditation),, and without holding on to any offence in our hearts (free spirit) , forgiveness - forgiving others of their wrong doings. Then we shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Knowing God is a thing of the heart (spirit).

    Thank you Jesus Christ.

To whoever is upset about not being able to pray to there lost loved ones ,or talk to them. Be happy that the Bible is here for us and it is very True and when it says the dead no nothing, the dead no nothing!!! I lost my mom when I was 29 a day before my bday so I can relate how it may be saddening to learn this , but you have to believe it so if you believe. Be glad you have Jesus to talk to he will get you to God! Amen

I love it! because I know the Lord, God, or Jehovah, for myself. I don't care what his name should be called. I love the Lord. He saved me from myself three years ago. I was a backslider, years and years had passed. I didn't have a will to get right, not even wanting to do right. I loved God as a young child. I gave my life to him when I was only 11 years of age. When I turned 14 years old, I went a stray. My own mother was not able to reach me. Just three years ago June 13, 2017 I took ill, I thought I was going to die. Then as I fell on my knees and started praying, I called out Lord help me. He did just that. It didn't matter what name I called him by. He saved me! and forgave me. Amen

What a great testimony, Robert. God's Spirit has truly revived & refreshed you through your difficult time & will be your delight & portion in the days ahead. 2 Cor 1:2-4: may the Grace you have received through your trials be the means whereby others may also be comforted & restored.

REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS, AGAIN I SAY REJOICE! This chapter of the prophet Isaiah lifted my soul today. I have lived with much physical pain the last twenty years, but the older I get the more excited I am for the Kingdom of God. What an exciting time it will be my brothers and sisters. The fear of the LORD is the most powerful thing in this life. It is well with my soul. Thank you Holy Spirit as you continue my journey.

  • Jim on Psalms 31 - 4 years ago
We have to give everything to God in prayer, no matter what it is . Stop holding on to things you can't control . God is the strong tower, he is our refuge; God said in the word that if you have faith of a mustard seed you can move a mountian. Trust in the lord;he is the only one that can stop from falling.

Doris, I can't think of any other Scripture than Psalm 91 that provides such assurance & comfort when one is going through deep & dark valleys. I have a dear elderly friend, also Doris by name, so I feel compelled to write, who is now confined in a nursing home, going blind & with alzheimers. She loves the Lord dearly, as you do, and hangs onto Him so tightly, that her present sufferings, though very real, are but just a passing aberration. As apostle Paul said, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the Glory which shall be revealed in us" ( Rom 8:18) and Peter ( 1 Pet 4:13). So be assured that the serious medical issue you're going through is not just known by those about you, but by the God of Love & Healing. He is Yahweh-Ropheka: I AM the LORD Who Heals ( Ex 15:26). Keep your gaze upon Him, soak yourself in His Love, enjoy His Glorious Presence through the Word & prayer. He is mindful of you & we will lift you up before His Throne.

I am amazed how things written centuries ago are still VERY fitting for us today. There's no way any of this would be possible if the Bible was merely just ... a book!

This is my testimony before God justified me: I was not raised in church and neither did I believe in the Lord God. I thought I was a pretty good fellow But I was still a sinner. But thank God that one day he crossed my path with Jesus of Nazareth! Ever since I accepted him my entire life has changed because I am no longer a wicked sinner, but am saved by his grace! Though I am not perfect and still deserve to rot in Hell, I can say with full assurance that I am on my way to Heaven. I pray that God would open your eyes to His salvation and save you! Call upon the name of JESUS, bow before him as the king and Lord of your life. Repent of your ways and be born again. The LORD(Jesus) loves you!

Words can not express the gratitude I have for my LORD and savior . I was so lost and always knew he was there but it wasn't until the last four years in my darkest times , I poured my heart and soul out to him . He literally saved my life . No one in this world could understand the emotions I was going through or help me except Christ . To this day I give thanks for everything in my life he has blessed me with and more . Every single day I do the same and pray for others hoping they will feel the same salvation . GOD is good!

I told a little of my testimony to let others know how very present the Holy Spirit is to us during crisis. Ask. He's there. Talk to him. Ask Him to teach you to pray; intercede like Jesus is doing now. A intercessor (I was taught) is one who asks to stand alongside someone, in their place, to fight against satan or to release a blessing into someone else's life. You must know who you are in Jesus Christ before you take on some hell to stand in for someone who may not know they're on satans radar. He steals, kills and destroys. JOHN 10:10
Pray for people who need it. People are hurting now and receptive to let someone pray for them. Answered prayers are your reward. :D

i truly believe this proverb a mouth speaks what the heart is full of . If a person has good tongue he will be having good relations with others in his life, but other side it can destroy the healthy person health by poor mouth. so speak good and be a good fruit of life .. amen

God is amazing, He open up his hand and satisfied the desired of every living thing, Glory to his name. He also searches heart and he knows the mind of the spirits. He all knowing. Bless his name. He the father of glory. I just can't stop praising him.
  • Kenny on 1 Thessalonians 1 - 4 years ago
My brother, please reconsider your views on this. Jesus is our role model. We must study the life of Christ and how he walked this earth. Jesus taught us that we must love as he did. Pray as he did. Help as he did. Jesus himself was baptized Matthew 3:16 - Matt 20:22&23. As you mentioned, we must believe Jesus is the way. You must also understand that Baptism is necessary for the Christian that once you believe on Jesus and accept him, baptism is a symbolic act of you dying to the world(self)of sin, and resurrecting in the new life of Jesus. 2 Corinth 5:17 Says if you are in Christ you are a new creature. Baptism symbolizes that newness. Grace gives you a right to salvation, have to earn it.
  • Vanessa on Philippians 4 - 4 years ago
we cave into mortal ideas and then we open a door for the devil to come in, we are now seeing the evil at work but the good thing is we have a Father who loves us, and if we would humble ourselves with humility, and give thanks to Him for he works all things for the good, repent of our sins, He will hear us and answer our prayers, kneel down and pray, and if He is your Lord God Almighty, He will never leave you nor forsake you, trust in Him, He fights our battles, this is a wake up call. Our God is more powerful then he who is in the world, no evil can remove Him who dwells in us, He walks with us. Fear not for He overcame the world and so shall we. He gave us His peace, believe have faith
