Jesse, Thank you for your response. Praise God! It is encouraging to hear from someone that has an understanding of what God is saying to them. May God thru the Holy Spirit continue to bless you with revelations unto His Word.

    Deanstuyvesant,

Amen to that! I have said this before and this is what I believe about prayer:

To me, prayer is the means by which I express my submission to Gods will in whatever it is I am praying for.

What that means is when I petition the Lord in prayer and ask for His will to be done, I have the promise according to 1 John 5:14-16 that He will answer my prayer.

It doesn't matter what it is, He will answer if I ask according to His will. Now, I know that doesn't mean I'm always going to get what I expect, and my situation might even get worse, but it will be according to His will, and I must accept it and thank Him either way!

Often times people pray for things, whether it be for better health, better finances, new job, or whatever they are praying for, but in their prayer, the do not pray for His will to be done, and then wonder why their prayer was not answered.

But if we pray anything according to His will, that prayer will be heard and answered. And we have to submit and accept whatever His will is.

One of my praying the Scriptures is praying by putting myself in Ephesians Chapter 3 verses 14-21. To me, praying the Scriptures is being in agreement with God and His will to answer. This is a powerful prayer.

Because Paul literally was a prisoner. Ephesians 3,

Philemon 1:9,10,22,23, Philippians 1:7,12,13,14,15, here Paul encourages others while in "bonds" , even saying it gives others boldness & confidence to speak the gospel without fear, resulting from Paul's example. Note: Philippians 1:18,20,21,28,29,30, 2Timothy 2:1,2,3,9,10,11,12,

    Ephesians 6:10-24, Colossians 4:18,

    Acts 20:22-25, Acts 20:37-38,

Please read the following chapters: Acts 24, Paul is accused of sedition Acts 24:5, Acts 26, Acts 27, Acts 28,

    Latrece,

There is only one place you can go for understanding of God's word, ant that is to the Lord through His Spirit. There are books, commentaries, YouTube teachers, pastors, etc, and even we here on this website can share our understanding with you, but it means nothing unless God's Spirit reveals to you that what is being shared is truth. The only thing I can tell you is to study the scripture and ask the Lord through His Spirit to teach you and help you to understand.

Again, we can share our understanding with you, but unless the Lord reveals the same understanding to you, it means nothing!

I think the Book of Proverbs gave me the most help guiding my son.

When he was practicing his handwriting skills, I asked him to copy short chapters in Proverbs, onto a sheet of paper.

My motivation was for him to learn the dangers of "running with the pack." Which he did. He learned to be a leader and think independently: To know when to withdraw himself from activities that would get him into trouble.

My praise is unto God. He watches over His Word. It accomplishes that which it was sent to do.

It was a 45 minute bit of time, for me to drive home from work, when he did this. It was random; didn't happen every day. They shouldn't feel they are being punished.

His reward was a Saturday at the water park, up the street. I learned to do house chores, other times, so this one day could be very special.

Kids grow up and we are alone again. To see them excel in life, and be involved in their kids "free times" is a huge thank you to God for His leadership.

Being left alone too much, teaches insecurity with self-imposed fences.

The Lord bless you with resolve and ideas to grow love that blooms.

I think the purpose of the Church is to know the brethren well enough to wash each others feet and greet with a holy kiss on occasion and a place to marry in the faith and raise children to one day, where they may hopefully choose to live by the faith seen in their parent's lives. A place of reproof and correction. A refuge and a hope. A place of fellowship sweet. A place where peace is witnessed by living testimonies of one another. A place as you mentioned to worship the living God and praise His name by song and scripture and prayer. A place of order and rest and peace. The list could go on. So I think a sincere sojourner with a refreshed spirit by the Living Christ would seek this Church, the bride of Christ ahead of His return.

    Osagie Victor,

The answer I would give you is that the universal church is not an organization or a specific denomination, The universal church is made up of all believers who have been born of God's Spirit. The purpose of the church is to worship God and serve Him.

3:18 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

So clearly written that I don't understand why some people bow down to the cross and worship Jesus?

I worship God my Heavenly Father and have been judged by man as delusional and blasphemous to declare that i am not a Christian or following Christian traditions. But I find myself seeking truth and this is what I find

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

We often think of approaching people based on who they are or how they act and treating them accordingly. What is important to remember is to treat people based on who WE are. We, as Christians, must treat other people with kindness and love always! That doesn't mean we can't be stern when needed. We treat others as we would want to be treated. Sometimes that requires us to give a lot of grace to others. But this is exactly what Jesus does for us!

To respect someone does not mean agreeing with them or their choices but rather to not scorn them or judge them for who they are or the mistakes they make. Show respect through compassion. Many believe they are Christian because they simply believe in Jesus. Others because they follow God's commandments and live for Him. There may be variations in exactly what a Christian is. But what I challenge you to do is to approach these people as the loving and patient Christian that you are. With love, respect and kindness. Never fight fire with fire. Love, conquers all. Never forget to pray for others..

May God guide you and provide His blessings upon you and your family!

    Hey Braden,

I know how it is. I feel my family could do better to be true Christians and live holy, repentant-of-sin lives. I ask God how I could witness to unbelievers, similar to you. Praying that your family comes to Christ and that unbelievers would also come to Christ.
  • Chris - In Reply on Ephesians 3:2 - 3 years ago
It was sad to read of your family situation, Braden; it must be so difficult when it's your parents that need the spiritual help & guidance. Your only guide in this matter is the Word of God. You can look at Jesus' Life, both as a young lad right to His appointed time to lay down His Life for us. Even though his earthly parents sometimes misunderstood Him & God's direction for Him, He still had to do what He had to & be a witness to them of His calling ( Luke 2:42-50). His parents were rightly concerned but they had to accept that Jesus was going to put God first always.

Jesus still honoured His parents in spite of their ignorance of His Calling & that is still God's expectation for you to give due honour & respect to yours in spite of what you see in them. God has given them to be your parents & they have given you all due care & provision from your birth, so ask God to help you see them in a different way than what is confronting you. Look past their weaknesses, hypocrisies, maybe carnal ways & see what they could be like if the Cross came before their sinful hearts & they could be changed. Commit your family in much prayer - that will be the earnest prayer that God hears & I'm sure will be answered in His Time.

Spend time reading the Word of God & in prayer, even when your family is looking on. They will see that you're putting God first in your life & they will see (& maybe convicted) by how you present yourself differently to others, your attitudes, your wisdom to handle situations, your devotion to the One Who has given you new life. Sometimes, that's all we can do - you can share the Word often with them, but ultimately it's your life & attitude to them that they will notice & will speak to them. Remember, it is real, genuine, godly Love that people notice - the type of love that many can't comprehend. Be strong young brother & be Christ's fragrance both at home & in the world.

How do I get along with my parents, they aren't Christians. My mom thinks she's a Christian but she doesn't put god first, and sometimes I find it so hard to find respect for her. I can also see how she is spoiling some of my siblings, and teaching them to be like her really upsets me, especially knowing that my family isn't growing up around the truth of the gospel. I'm getting of track but my main question is (how do I get along with non Christians.

    Luke 21

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and [so] that day come upon you unawares.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 WATCH ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Jesus

Comments by Alex on the Children of PROMISE WHICH IS THE H.G. Jesus will not sire flesh and blood children simply b/c his seed is the living WORD, Ya gotta realize they don't call him the bridegoom for nothin , he is gonna sire Children in US,Thats y he has to know us, that when that good seed is sown in mans hearts. Our Lord reproduces after the GOD KIND meaning the H.G. his offspring ,When he breathe on them he was reproducing after the God KIND as his breath was his WORD and his WORD IS HIS SEED , Thats y he said b/c i have spoken these WORDS sorrows have filled your hearts , SORROWS imply a spritual pregnancy, Thats y he tells them of a woman in travail and birth pains ,then he tells them i will see you again simply b/c they were gonna birth a baby Christ .Whosoever receiveth one such child in my name receiveth me . Which is the Child of PROMISE the H.G. AS THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT . Thus we see that Christ is truly GOD the Son simply b/c he reproduces after GOD kind Ya remember God said that every thing has to reproduce ,MULTIPLY after its KIND, THIS is HOW WE KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT Christ IS TRULY God the SON. It was the Father that said i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven. and God Almighty swore by his very self ,Thats y the SOWER OF THAT GOOD SEED WANTS TO SOW HIS PRECIOUS SEED IN OUR HEARTS THAT WE MIGHT BIRTH A BABY CHRIST WHICH IS THE CHILD OF PROMISE THE H.G. ( Multiplication ) Thats y he said whosoever receiveth one such child in MY NAME receiveth ME And that is how we bring forth fruit unto God by his seed his words etc which is the new covenant remember i will know them all from the least to the greatest, this know them all is an intimacy that is gonna result in a heavenly birth. This Woman in Rev 12 is the best examply of the NEW BIRTH ,Her Child is the H.G. that Child of PROMISE , THE MULTIPLICATION OF CHRIST VIA HIS SEED ETC. The WORDS of the book, That NEW COVENANT IN HIS BLOOD, The woman is US THE WORLD . GB

Chanting is never heard of in the Bible. When the Jews sing, they usually use their song book, the Psalms, & also words from other Jewish sources. Christians sing from a hymn book, chorus book & such like, where hopefully, the words fully align with the Scriptures.

Being conversant with the chanting done by Hindus (similar to the Buddhists, I assume), it demonstrates generally a continual, monotonous set of words or rhythm for the primary purpose to elevate their mental (& spiritual) state to a 'higher level'. They can do it in Temple worship, worship at home, or in solitude (as the real version (not Western) that Yoga demands). It's this constant repetition & mental 'vibration' that incites a person to achieve a different state of mind & euphoria.

And for the Christian, this quest is totally against Scripture. We are never told to neutralize our minds & wills so as to attain a higher level of consciousness. However, we are told in 1 Peter 1:13, "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ". "Girding up" means that we have to maintain strict & constant control of our minds, what goes in & what comes out. We are never to disengage our minds & wills from our control - if we do, we might be subject to other spirits having access to us. But when we gird up our minds, we demonstrate our subjection to the Holy Spirit within us, declaring that we want to only hear His Voice, & only be led of Him.

Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Our minds have to constantly be guarded. In this verse, the example of the pull of the World to conform to their standards & their understanding of life's matters, remains ever before us. But we have to renew our minds (i.e. make an effort rather to conform to God's Standards for us).

    (Comment at end)

    Ephesians 5:26

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the WASHING OF THE WATER by the WORD

    Titus 3:5

    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the WASHING of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

As we read our Bibles every day; and spend some time praying to the Lord afterwards: our minds are being cleansed of wrong thinking and temptations.

It's true what they used to say (not so much anymore): garbage in, garbage out. I kicked the cable-tv habit a decade ago. I got tired of tv trying to teach me their low-living doctrines till it made me react. I have not missed it at all.

There are very good Bible Ministry programs on FM Radio. 24 hours a day.

Cable tv preachers can be watched on YouTube, so "LIKE" them so YouTube keeps them on.

There is no reason to be assaulted by the temptations cable tv offers. I watch antenna tv. Costs me NOTHING. $200.00 saved every month. There's news on 5 channels daily, cartoons on 2, three PBS channels, oldies movies, cooking, DIY, cops-cowboys-comedy (clean), medical, mysteries, and more. Depending on where your transmitters are you should pull in 42-58 channels. Spanish programming too!

Kick the habit (cable). With wireless you can still stream. Check it out. :D

Good news is you have more time for Bible Reading and visiting this Comment Community regularly to exchange thoughts and questions. The Prayer Request room always needs people to pray for those who are sick, afraid, have lost someone who died, or stressed from sheltering. I find it very rewarding.

You're so busy you don't have time to be tempted by so many visual temptations. I'm retired and a neighbor and me host Bible Studies in our 50 & up Complex where we live. It's like in here, but with our shut in neighbors. It's nice. Think about it.

  • Chanting and Singing in any places of Worship - In Reply on Ephesians 3:2 - 3 years ago
It's illegal to chant or sing in a few states, thanks to Atheists in California. The House in Wash. DC is attempting to stop it in all states. ACLJ dot com or their streaming site on YouTube. Go sign Petitions against it. Please get involved.

All Churches. I would presume the Buddhist's and others cannot chant either. I don't know about them & if they will be fined and sued for singing.

If you think this is bad now, it will be much worse after the Rapture. 2 Timothy 3

2 Peter 3. Take a few minutes and read those links. See, we are seeing these things happening now. It's happening, folks.
