Paul was in prison when he wrote Ephesians. Tychicus was there with him, and it is a blessing that he was. Paul told us how to fight against the evil spirits and he even gave us instructions on how to dress. Putting on the whole armour, it is all there verses 11 through 18. I love it. If we follow this advice we cannot miss.

So when God form man from the dust of Earth and breath the breath of life in him he did not say man was a spirit but upon death our life breath returns to him when did he say man had separate form other than one he gave us

Codes of good practice for children and servants are here. Also, we should “put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places….that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day

Hi Cheryl; What it means is that there is a spiritual world underlying the physical world as we see it; and that it is not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and their dominions over men and whole regions of the world. We can see that happening in the smallest towns and the largest cities and entire Countries and cultures what great spiritual and moral war right now is everywhere.

Cheryl: We are fighting against Satan and his influence on the world. Without The Armor of God we are doomed. Verse 11-13

Wayne; I think we tried to help you with this before! Paul is not your Saviour! Paul didn't invent the Glad Tidings of Christ; nor was he teaching anything that wasn't before already in the words of the Prophets. Why do you hang on something that causes worthless arguments? Read in Corinthians what Paul himself says about those who put too much on being his disciples: God is the Saviour and Lord!
  • Wayne on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
A Disciple, Paul calls it "my gospel" Romans 2:16.

"But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore." Exodus 14:29-30 One of the great signs for us to look to for understanding the way we take with Jesus, is the salvation and deliverance of Israel from Egypt, and the consequent humbling and destruction of Pharaoh and his army. The Day of our deliverance and salvation will be the same Day that God executes judgment on the pride and the idols of the wicked. Our very salvation is the rebuke of everything they have used to build their world, and all they trust in to support their delusions. The things that the evil ones count on to be our inescapable ruin shall be the very things that God will make our deliverance for ever out of their hands. "Stand still and see the salvation of the LORD with you!"

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right." Ephesians 6:1 In the context of this part of the Epistle on the subject of Submitting ourselves to, and honoring and loving one another whether it is the married couple, the parents and their children, the servants and their masters, the community and their rulers the measure of our love for Jesus and our obedience, is in how we walk in truth and love toward those in our most ordinary relations and everyday life. Every kind of relationship whether with family, friends, neighbors or strangers, we need to learn their important relation with our walk with God, and should be regarded as the way we will actually do what the Lord says. If we read our Bibles, attend meetings and fellowship, witness to others, we don't want to be a "Street Angel, and a Home Devil!" In other words, appearing to be a devout and holy Christian outside the home, but a terrible selfish monster toward your family at home!

Ephesians 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Acts 9:15 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. Jesus is my God who chosen Paul to teach us Gentiles in this Church age of Grace. We must read.

Bro. Ray; It was not the "secret of Paul" or Paul's Gospel! The announced Glad Tidings of Jesus Christ was given in charge to ALL of God's servants: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us BY HIS SON..." Paul is not your Saviour, but a minister of the LORD! We must seek God and obey ALL HIS WORDS!
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, We should all share the secret of Paul, The GOSPEL.
  • BSP on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Verse 4: Parents do not want to unnecessarily irritate or provoke their children to wrath. Parents should strive to set a good example in teaching their children.
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints I will always pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ so they don't fall in the trap of the devil, that's why we need the full Armour of God, to fight the good fight.
  • A disciple on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." The Lord's discourse on the Mount of Olives ( Matt. 24-25; Mark 13; Luke 21); His last words to the Apostles at the Passover Supper ( John 13-17); the messages to the Churches ( Rev. 2-3); and all throughout the Prophets; the Lord our God has given us foreknowledge of all that we should expect to encounter as His people.
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Philippians 1:16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: Paul was having problems with others preaching another gospel that wasn't his that Jesus reveal to him.
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Apostle Paul is writing to believers. If we don't abstain from sin, how can we put the whole armour of God? Paul clearly instruct us how to prepare for battle in this evil world.
  • Jonsun on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
I think the verses from 1 - 9 are all about being a slave in bondage to another human, also even the "Masters" are in bondage to GOD.
The rest of the verses are about submitting to God totally, and believing in his presence
to shield us from "evil", and I think they are about possession by spiritual principalities and wickedness, and there must be no chink in your armour!
  • Everett on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Kevin when the AUTHOR of SIN Satan CHOSE to sin against GOD, He CHOSE BY HIS GRACE to redeem whosoever will. DIVINE LOGIC most of the time doesn't compare to human logic. He declares, HIS WAYS AND THOUGHTS ARE NOT LIKE OURS. If we could figure out every thing he does, he wouldn't be The AWESOME GOD THAT HE IS. Hell wasn't created, It was prepared for Satan
  • A disciple on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Kevin Goshe; God made everything perfect and full of beauty, with the intention of very good; nothing is done with some mysterious agenda! That's how the devil thinks! and that's what the devil always uses to slander God! No angel or human was ever without an opportunity to go the right way; and God will be glorified for His righteousness in ALL THINGS, and concerning every creature He has made!
  • Darrien on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Kevin Goshe, God created Satan to make an example out of him.

The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. - Proverbs 16:4 KJV

God wanted to show the consequences of living apart from him. Many times people come back to God after getting into trouble. He gives us a choice to go our own way because love is not possible without free will.
  • Kevin Goshe on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Why Did God Creat The Devil.I Know Its An AngelBut God Knew It's Going To Be Evil And God Made Devil
  • Ray321 on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
When working for the man, i have to pray that I do the best I can without disobedience. Ephesians 6:5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ I thank God for food on the table and a roof over my head. Always in the Love of Christ Jesus
  • LA VERNE on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
THE BOOK OF EPHESIAN IS A WONDERFUL BOOK ON THE ARMOR OF GOD. I LOVE IT.
  • BSP on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Verse 13: We must put on the complete suit of armor because Satan will try to attack us at every opportunity and will target any part of our life that is without protection.
  • BSP on Ephesians 6 - 7 years ago
Verse 19 shows that Paul requested that others pray for him so that he could be successful in his ministry. We should pray for others and we can request that others pray for us.
