Haman was a distant relative of the Agagites; or Amalekites. God had; for whatever reason sought their destruction under Saul; and his disobedience would allow for a near extermination of all the Jews in the known world at this time.
In this passage; we see a continuing supplication of Esther which earned the king's respect. She prepared a feast in two phases; with the second planned event to bring Haman's demise.
Naturally, Haman was jubilant at his exaltation and honor; but he continued to hold hatred for the Jews in his heart (v. 9 and 10). His wife gave him the plan along with his friends to prepare a gallow 75 feet high (no small feat) to hang Mordecai. This would appear to "seal the deal" as it were but then there is (as Paul Harvey used to say) the rest of the story.
Pride comes before a fall; and this house of cards was about to collapse. ( Proverbs 16:18).
Esther have favor with God, and the king. She made intercession prayer in behalf of her people, the Jewish people that their lives will be save. The Lord used a mighty woman of God to save a Nation. The Book of Esther is filled with favor of God, when we as believers completely sell out to the Lord we will have divine favor with and his grace will rest upon us, and we can all making intercession prayer for our lost love ones, our communities. We must obey God by surrender to the Lord with our lives,so many can come to the Kingdom of God.
Haman - Pride comes before a fall. Stay low and you can't fall...
Esther - knew the power of prayer and fasting. Without even knowing her request, the king said that she could have up to half of the kingdom. Prayer and fasting makes you look better and grants you favor in the eyes of the Father and man (the king).
Esther, was an intelligent woman, so determine. she is a woman with the fear of God, very strong and never want to give up even if it will take her life.
When people wallow in their own conceit it comes right back on them. Haman's wife was no better as she put out the constructive idea of how Mordecai should die. You reap what you sow definitely Haman got exactly what he deserved in the end.
