all these laws God did not expect us to keep but we live fine tunning ourselves and others into an image as though we are keeping them, look at vs22 God says set the stone as it is come to HIM as we are and HE will use us for HIS name sake. do you know who has kept them?
  • Createams on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
It is without doubt that God wants us to have these books. But is that because they are the literal word of God or because they are a literal understanding of will of God? In 1611 men translated thou shalt not kill when everything else they translated said thou shalt not murder. Kill is a word and great men live out their lives with the sorrow of blood in the cities of refuge remember Joshua who drew lots in Shiloh and named these cities. Murder is a word with one purpose and this is my understanding of God.

It 's easy for misled people, confused or abused genders to want to idolize symbolic figures, saviors, heroes in any form. God knows this, or rather knew occurrences can and will be adopted through life 's ever changing tribulations. I think that 's why he needed to clarify his law. So it doesn 't get twisted. It 's clear, so there is no excuses when asked at due time.

The Ten Commandments are the essence of human decency. See Jeremiah chapter 31 verses 33 and 34 the new covenant the truth of this new covenant and the knowledge of right and wrong can be seen in a child long before they learn to read and write.
  • Jaime on Exodus 20:3 - 10 years ago

  • Barnet on Exodus 20:3 - 10 years ago
thou shall not have other gods before me,God never mix things, He is God and He is everything that we dont need to compromise. but remember whatever is first in our life can be a god,so if we put anything first we are wrong.God is our first priority we should not have anything before Him.
  • JONAS on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
IT IS A BASIC GUIDE THAT ALWAYS REMIND US WHAT THE LORD IS EXPECTED FROM US.
  • Pastor Steve Farmer on Exodus 20:16 - 10 years ago
Even though this is one of the more important Commandments I have heard no sermons BIG or small as to why it should be a part of our every day thinking and deeply rooted into our hearts as Hebrews 10 16 implies.
  • SOLOMON KOOMSON on Exodus 20:6 - 10 years ago
this is the same what JESUS CHRIST said "if you love me,keep my commandment
  • JERRY MANINANG on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
God gave the law as a guide, because man is arrogant when it comes to sin.The law was holy and righteous but the law can not make us righteous. The very reason why God gave the law is to bring us to the end wherein we finally say that Lord I can 't do it and i need a Savior JESUS CHRIST fulfilled the law and you must trust Him
  • Sarpong Emmanuel on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
Exodus 20 1 is a chapter that give the exact rules for worshing our dearly God.This rules were not meant for only individual in the church but the whole blood of the wonderful God the creator.
  • Oyeterun Oluwafemi Samuel on Exodus 20:4 - 10 years ago
That means we should not guess that the picture we claimed as that of Jesus and put in most churches should not be put there, because nobody took d picture of Jesus, all is just a believe that d picture is that of Jesus. This scriptures make it clear that we shld not use any picture, because using such picture might mean serving other gods unknowingly.
  • Julius Colbert on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
Jesus wrote the law and he kept the law until his death including the Sabbath. There was many examples of Jesus and his disciples worshipping on the Sabbath. Paul reasoned with the Jews for 76 Sabbaths in a row. there is no clear example of anyone changing the Holy day in any scripture.
  • Roland finlay on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
The ten commandments are for sinners, the blood washed believer will keep GODS COMMANDS as their heart wouldnt let them do otherwise.

  • Anonymous on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
If not for the shed blood of Jesus Christ , the law that God gave to Moses would condemn all humanity to eternal life in Hell. My sins covered by His blood I now appear spotless in the eyes of God. John 3:16
  • Ar on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
Yes, I believe that Saturday is the 7 the day of the week, the day our Lord God rested after he created this beautiful world, which we humans are destroying now. But after Jesus crusufication and Rise from the dead on early Sunday morning, Sunday became the Holy Day, as we see in acts when His desciples gathered each Sunday, and other places where Sunday is mentioned as the Lords day, the first day. Jesus tried to teach this when He was curing people on Saturday...thus showing that a more important day is coming, Sunday, His reserection day. thanks for reading my opinion too.
  • Roy on Exodus 20:10 - 10 years ago
It's not what I think but what the text says that is important. It says THE SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH... that's very clear and very easy to understand, if we want to.
  • Lavish on Exodus 20:10 - 10 years ago
Seventh day from my openion is the day one has set aside to worship n thank God for his. Favour along the week. But acording to the history of crestion n the death and resarection of Jesus saturday should be the seventh day. As time goes all people will be forced to worship on sunday. Let God only show us the trueth. God bless you all.
  • BLESSED on Exodus 20:1 - 10 years ago
I CAN DO ALL THINGS TO CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENE ME.ACCORDING UNTO THY WORD
  • Ann H. on Exodus 20:10 - 10 years ago
Which day is the seventh day on the calendar? Look at a calendar and you will notice that Sunday is usually the 1st day listed, then Monday is the 2nd day listed, then Tuesday is the 3rd day listed, then Wednesday is the 4th day listed, then Thursday is the 5th day listed, then Friday is the 6th day listed, and then, Saturday is listed as the 7th day of the week. It really is not that hard to figure out. Jesus and His apostles all observed the Sabbath from Friday evening at sunset through Saturday evening sunset.
  • Darryl Murrille on Exodus 20:17 - 10 years ago
I must follow Gods law,we should not desire anything that belongs to our neighbors.
  • Chali fekadu on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
    Sabbath is very imortants.
  • Alvin on Exodus 20 - 10 years ago
In response to the comment by Mr. Watson Saturday is the seventh day of the week and the days of the week have not changed. Sunday is the first day of the week and sunday worship was implemented by constantine in 321 AD. God blessed the seventh day and called it the Sabbath therefore we are to keep it holy. It is one of the ten commandments and is still binding today. Only God can make something holy not man.

    Matthew 5:17-19
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  • Charlie watson on Exodus 20 - 11 years ago
concerning verses 8-9-10. six days you shall labor and on the seventh you shall rest. it doesn't say from sunday to friday and rest saturday. or labor monday to saturday and rest sunday. the verses say that for six days you shall labor and on the sixth to rest. so everybodys sabbath may be on different days, as long as they observe it, it should be fine.
  • Brandon on Exodus 20 - 11 years ago

I strongly agree with Exodus 20:15,this a simple senario Don't let the pain of Ones season destroy the joy of others and don't judge life by Ones difficult season.the thoughts are to contemplate, reflect, discover, explore, inspire and enrich yourself
