I feel to reply to your statement as one of your parents has a problem like one of my parents. Doing drugs for longer than I have been alive. Still doing them and is not at all young anymore. It is quite sad in how many times I have tried to ask, or even show by me becoming sober, to quit drugs. As I've brought it up so many times, as now it only generates strife and bad energy saying anything, which just recently I did, it is out of my hands. I just have to suffer and pray.
No matter the wrong our parents may do. Be a loving child. I know it can be hard sometimes. It is better to suffer. Just as we all shall one day have to give an account for what we did in our lives. God honors those who suffer more than those who rebel and become prideful/selfish.
Sorry I don't have any other information on what to do. As others may be able to help more than me.
Lacey i am so sorry for you ,i dont know how old you are , the first thing you must do is protect yourself ,by that i mean you have to learn to be strong for your own sake ,lean on God and on Jesus and they will show you the way ,you have to find a way to love your parents without judging them ,they are old enough and wise enough to know what they are doing and to know there will be consequences for them, try to be the best daughter you can and maybe they will eventually follow your good example ,find yourself some good Christian friends and stick with them as much as possible ,ive been through something very similar ,God loves you very much Lacey and if you stick with Him He will surely stick with you and support you every day ,try not to let you parents behaviour upset you too much ,you have your own salvation to work out so you are going to need to focus and be strong and try to be happy ,get some good Christian girlfriends ,come and talk to us anytime .
Often times in ministry lessons i hear about parents who need help with their rebellious children. However, i almost never hear about what to do when the situation is reversed. But that is exactly the case in my life. I am the most responsible person in my family, while my parents are rebellious. One of them has done drugs for as long as i can remember. And the other one is absorbed in adultery. What should i do to help my rebellious parents?
I think this website is pretty good. Most websites only have other types of verses not KJV which i read and KJV is all that i will read till i die lol.
Hello. I hope you find these verses helpful in your questions.
If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, then you are saved. You cannot lose your salvation.
Romans 3:23...For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
2 Timothy 2:15...Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Read the KJV Bible, pray, and go to Church.
Ephesians 4...21..If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22.That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23.And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24.And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25.Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26.Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27.Neither give place to the devil.
I believe you're referring to Elijah & not Gideon ( 1 Kings 19:18). We're not told who those 7,000 were in Israel, but that was a large enough number of people to convince Elijah that he was not the only one left who honoured God & not bowed to Baal.
The dictionary definition, which is similar to the meaning in the Greek, is: unrestrained sexual behaviour, or an inclination to such behaviour; lustfulness, lewdness.
Good morning Nicole, it was so nice to see your note this morning! I'm very happy that you were encouraged. Like I said, I know how hard it is to get out of the hole, or the rut that we can get into.
And yes, I've been there, and depressed many times. Did you know that there were other Christians and God fearing people in the Bible who suffered from depression? There really was. So you're not alone.
As far as the old hymns go, like I said they really have done a wonderful job of ministering to my hurting soul. One of my favorite places to go to listen to them on YouTube is the SE Samonte channel. They're mainly acapella which I love, and they sing many many old hymns. They have beautiful outdoor scenery in the wilderness with the songs, they include the lyrics and usually at the end of each song they put a King James Bible scripture on. I'll just have to say right up front that it is a Mormon channel, and I am not Mormon nor do I advocate Mormonism. Simply put I am a King James Bible believer. The way I see it, as long as I am just there for the music, that's okay.
Quite frankly, as a King James Bible believer, I realized a number of years ago there is no Bible for denominations! I can't remember the exact scripture but it goes something like this... One saith I am of apollos, another I am of paul, another I am of Jesus, and it should not be so! I'm paraphrasing of course.
I've got to get rolling now, I'm actually a truck driver and getting ready to head out of Nebraska and heading to Utah!
The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face to shine upon you! Have a beautiful day Nicole!
That you would take your time to send such a detailed response has brought me to tear's. Knowing that God is hurting because I am hurting makes me want to succeed more. I do feel closer to Him. I will continue my baby steps and keeping in his word. I will never stop reaching for Him because I need Him so badly. Thank you for caring. You have no idea how much it means!
If you're truly sorry, God has already forgiven you. But it's also important to forgive yourself. If you were already saved years ago there's no need to be saved a second time; that's what Jesus died on the cross for.
Lord - is a title very much like Mr and Master and Dr and Sir. These are Titles. Why is that the following Bible's have God's name in the verse and other Bible's omit The Almighty's name.
This in itself is absolutely wrong!
Omitting the Almighty God's name and replacing it with a Title is wrong in every single sense.
Biblically there is no day named that we are to keep holy. The day is simply called the Sabbath/Shabot. They were told specifically to "remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy" Since Christ is our Sabbath or Rest then we are to 'rest' in Him and cease from our own labor and work for the Kingdom of God.
Christians Becoming Fully Equipped-1 on Exodus 20 - 4 years ago
Growing up is a process. No one is born fully grown. Everyone comes into the world as an infant and progresses through different developmental stages until he reaches adulthood. The same is true when you become born again. It doesn't matter how old you are physically. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are a spiritual babe in Christ, and you must learn to grow in the things of God.
In the Book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul talks about the spiritual growth of Christians.
EPHESIANS 4:11-15
11 And he[Jesus]gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
Did you notice in verse 15, Paul tells the Christians in Ephesus to ". . grow up into him in all things . . ."? Evidently, Paul didn't think that the Church at Ephesus had grown up yet. He also said in verse 13, "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, UNTO A PERFECT MAN . . . ."
In The Amplified Bible, this phrase is translated, "that we might arrive at really mature manhood." In these verses, Paul is encouraging us to reach spiritual maturity. He is encouraging us to grow up spiritually.
Throughout the New Testament, we see a striking similarity between spiritual and physical development. In fact, there are three stages of spiritual development that correspond to physical development. They are: babyhood, childhood, and manhood.
You can still honor and respect your mom from a distance for the limited involvement they had and not need to be involved in her life or physically around her. That is my opinion.
Thank you for your reply. Do I have to honor my biological mom who did not raise me? I want to do my best to keep the commandments but this situation is confusing that I am in.
You have sometimes thought God walked off and forgot about you; but He doesn't do that. Within you He was growing the spirit of adoption.
Everything you've endured was to bring you to this day. How do I know that? I was brought that way too. I was the little gray duck in a family of swans.
Some day, even now, you'll be able to embrace the great work that God has been doing within your heart. Only you know the hollow feeling of not really belonging anywhere.
In the perfect time, God sent forth the Spirit of Adoption, into your life. His name is Jesus. He is your ABBA. Your Daddy.
Daddy means as close to his heart as you desire of him. Now write these 2 verses on the inside cover of your Bible.
Psalms 27:10 - When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 68:6
God setteth the Solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
You're not a mistake. There is a plan in place for you. Let go of the past, and embrace your adoption and the future. Ask Him now to complete the work in your heart. Get still and listen for the Holy Spirits voice. One of peace; not fear and confusion.
I'm not speaking out of my flesh here. You are to have this Word now.
I'm sorry to hear you were so badly mistreated. You deserved better and deserved to be loved.
I believe the Bible has provisions for getting out of toxic, abusive relationships, both with spouses and with family and friends. I have distanced myself from family at different times to reduce negativity. Even though I still love family members it doesn't mean I have to be around them. Some I do not go around because nothing positive comes from it.
This isn't an exact match to your situation, but at the end of 1 Corinthians 5:11 it says to not eat with (I interpret as associate with) people who claim to be believers but who are living in sin (with examples listed). It doesn't say ignore non-believers, but believers who are engaged in these sins. To me I think this supports leaving a toxic environment. Part of loving ourselves and taking care of ourselves I think will be making decisions to distance from certain temptations, certain people, certain negative situations. Hope this is helpful.
I have a question about honoring your mother and father. I was put up for adoption as a baby. In my thirties I met my biological mom but did not have a connection with her. Do I have to have a relationship with her? Also my adoptive mom abused me physically, mentally, verbally. Am I obligated to her as well?
Just as God rested from His creative Work, He also instituted a day of Rest (Shabbat) for Israel. They were to do no servile work at all, limited in how far they could travel, use the time to reverence the day. For Gentiles, God expects that we too need a day of rest in the week, for our bodies to re-energize, relax, spend time with family, etc. Often, we get two days in the week to do this, but in many countries, they only get one day. There's no constraint on what we do during our Rest Day as long as it's a break from the rigours of the 'daily grind'. The Christian however, will use that time to meet together for worship & other ways of ministering to others. However, for the Jew, he has many constraints placed upon him, usually by man & not from God.
It was later called the Sabbath Day. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, and He worked and did healings on that day at times.
Some Churches meet on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday or even Friday.
Find one that teaches Whole Bible that is compatible with your work schedule. Jobs are not as plentiful as they used to be. It may get worse before it gets better. Use some wisdom.
God knows everything we're dealing with and He assuredly can help you find the church that works with peoples schedules.
If someone tries to say you are "out of order", don't worry about them. It's what JESUS demonstrated that matters. He is THE LORD of the Sabbath!!

7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Keep asking him He will answer according to His will. His promises is yes and amen.
