Commitment to GOD'S way will bring us closer to being the type of person HE desires us to be. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

    Titus 2:11-14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We will be able to conduct ourselves in accordance to the mind of CHRIST, heeding the leadership before us. Romans 13:1-5

Being crucified in CHRIST, and knowledgeable in HIS word we are able to go forward and carry out HIS word and make disciples, Matthew 28:18-20; being encouraged, we will go out to reach the lost, 2 Peter 3:9.

May we be faithful in our prayers for the peace in Jerusalem, and for the authority before us,

    Isaiah 55:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

    1 Timothy 2:1-6

GOD to shine HIS blessed face upon us as we put on the new man in CHRIST name, and put off the old man. For if any man be in CHRIST, he is a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Thank YOU FATHER for the faithfulness of the brethren here on this forum. Help us to be prayed up, and be reminded to wear the armor of GOD daily. Ephesians 6:11-18

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. December 21, 2023

    Exodus 22

This chapter, like chapter 21, gives God's judgment on a variety of situations and circumstances. In reading the comments by others, it seems that most people focused on verse 18 about not allowing witches to live. I think this verse shows how offensive witchcraft and sorcery is to God.

There are many other topics spoken of here that discuss how t bring a just end to things that happen in this society that God is growing into a nation of His choosing. He wants to shape them into a mindset that honors Him, believes His decrees are right and just, that worships only Him, that respects parents, rulers, judges, that execute fairness in determining an offender's sentence, and with giving unto God the first things of our life.

The judgements and scenarios spoken of here do give us a view into the social and civil life of this time and of these people. In today's world, some countries still judge in similar ways to this chapter. In most modern countries, our justice system is not in a hurry to execute people for crimes. But sometimes it is the best thing to do if a person is so seared of conscience that he/she wantonly kills, maims, and continues unrepentantly to do this.

Unlike the nation Israel under God's rule, we have no such authority or command from God to condemn witches to death.

If murder has been committed or if someone is culpable in the death of another, then the proper authorities should be involved.

Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. ( 2 Timothy 2:8-10)

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. ( Psalm 27:1-3)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. ( 2 Corinthians 10:3-6)

There is a witch coven where I live (in the floor above) and these people already killed 5 people in my family! That's why the Bible The Holy Word of God decrees; "You shall not allow a witch to live." Exodus 22:18. These witches are on a seek and destroy mission.

I find that mocking attitude disturbing.

Revelation 12:9 And the great DRAGON dragon was cast out, that OLD SERPENT old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Serpent and Dragon are mere figures of speech, much like when Jesus was called the Lamb of God by John.

Jesus is not a four legged creature that said Baa.

The only other created Archangel was Satan; but He sinned and was thrown to Earth by Michael the Archangel at Gods request. Satan is a serpent.

The worship of angels is forbidden.

You cannot order them to do things.

They do not look like Michelangelo's cherubs.

Today is the day - I am pleased to see someone who gets it. many thousands of children are kidnapped every years with most around the satanic sacrificial days. They infiltrate churches and poison families. The Lord told us what to do with them and the lukewarm ignore his command.

Soon they shall find out there is a severe penalty for disobedience as a curse if you will. Christians tolerate openly satanic "churches" who will soon not tolerate them. Thing is church goers are so sure they shall escape those wicked things they tolerated that the Lord hated. The wicked shall surely repay the tolerant church goers for their unfaithfulness.

We are to love OUR enemies, are we to love the enemies of the Lord?

As for the killing of witches. Have you ever encountered one? Has one ever been truthful with you and disclosed what they really do? If you were told the truth, you would find that witches cover bad deeds with foolish spells. A witches deeds can be anything from, breaking in and putting"potions" in your food to sprinkling anthrax in your undergarments.

If a scientist would break down those drops he would find a myriad of poisons. This is just one example of a witch. The Lord refers to it as of the sin of rebellion. The sin of witchcraft is as of the sin of rebellion. That sin of rebellion in the above example would be: That witch that walked through your door did not regard the law as pertaining to them, with that vile of poison, when committed over a long period of time, can kill you. A long and slow death. Of which they watch as ritual, a person dying directly of that deed. Did they know there is a law that regards unlawful illegal entry as breaking and entering, now with poison, is an intent to kill? And how many times was that act committed against an unwitting person? And the higher a witch gets into politics, the more above the law the more the deed is covered by other members of the community, law enforcement, etc. It becomes an object of fascination, which leads to more acts of the same kind, against more unwitting participants.

If you found that your heart attacks were not natural events, but as an act of poisoning what would be your reactions. Or that cancer, leukemia, stroke, lung diseases, crippling "arthritis" because that witch had their way with you. The Lord protects. But witchcraft is of the sin of rebellion. Meaning, defiance. Many have defied the Lord. So, to rephrase it, witchcraft is defiance of all laws, Gods, Mans, and against the unspoken bonds of trust. A child, a family pet, your Mother, Son, etc. Now, if you were watching a loved one dying a torturous death, knowing, would you want to kill? God gives permission.

Witchcraft is the WHOLE WORLD lying in wickedness, the device of hopeless oppressors, even that spirit of antichrist filling many earthen vessels as ye deceive the proud. Witchcraft says, Jesus is coming! after GOD made you to know that JESUS IS COME. Witchcraft says, Never let them see you sweat! or, Keep calm and chive on! for ye know CHRIST IS COME. Witchcraft hides vainly behind false courage.
  • Heather Smith - In Reply on Exodus 22 - 5 years ago
Good question. What is considered witchcraft?
  • Stanjett - In Reply on Exodus 22 - 5 years ago
Revile. To abuse attack with evil words. Blessed are ye, when men shall REVILE you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:11 The gods here are with a small g. The leaders of your people are judges, kings, Presidents etc. Just don't do it.

In the early days of the USA there was so called witches in Salem. The people burned them tied to a stake. That was not that long ago. Right or Wrong I don't know but the people that did it thought they was following Gods comment.

    Hi Leigh,

According to commentary I have read, the plural refers to the judges and magistrates that execute these laws.
  • Leigh Hunter on Exodus 22 - 6 years ago
The use of the plural form in verse 28 puzzles me.

"If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution;" Here is the "conditions" for one's being spared destruction for his sins: that he should be redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and repent, and become a new and holy man of God. Faith alone, without a real effect wrought on his heart and in his manner of life, is not evidence of salvation.
  • A disciple on Exodus 22 - 6 years ago
"If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury." Even though this has been a long time accepted means of business, God hates covetousness and usury, and will demand an account of all who despise His Spirit. "Here is the patience and the faith of the Saints!" The LORD is the avenger of ALL such!
  • A disciple on Exodus 22 - 6 years ago
"If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him. If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft." How GREAT if that were done today! Why are people who do wickedly merely "locked up" and not SOLD? This would be righteous for everyone.

Until the Lord comes, the world and ALL its evils will continue as if they had an indefinite extension forever. While the transgressors are coming to the full, and wicked and impostors are waxing worse and worse, the great apostasy answers! When people who know the Glad Tidings of Christ, and have had the Bible, leave their first love because "they also are flesh!" the doom is at the door!
  • Bill G on Exodus 22 - 6 years ago
The law concerning witches is particular to the Jewish people prior to Jesus. If you were a Jew and agreed to be a "practicing Jew" you would be subject to the particular constraints of the law God gave to His people. The 10 commandments are a summation of all laws, but not the final word on all behavior. That would be love thy neighbor as thy love thy self (in regard to human relations).

Cari good question in the O.T. it was written the sole that sins shall SURELY die,WITCHCRAFT, an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth there was no GRACE,but under the new covenant we have grace by his spirit,TH H.G. The spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death,BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD THAT TAKETH AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD,NO CONDEMNATION TO THEM IN CHRIST JESUS
  • Cari on Exodus 22 - 6 years ago
why is it that we still obey such commandments as thou shalt not kill but then "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." I'm being asked this question. Can you help me on this?
  • Jonathan on Exodus 22 - 7 years ago
I do not know why people believe certain section of the bible is not meant for them or this dispensation. To any believer, the complete bible starts from Genesis and ends in Revelation. If what some people are saying is anything to go by, Christians are no more supposed to be reading old testament. Tithes paying, Psalms etc are in old testament, why do we still practise them?
  • BSP on Exodus 22 - 7 years ago
Verse 20:The Israelites were to be completely devoted to Jehovah God. They were not to worship any other gods or they would suffer death.
  • A disciple on Exodus 22 - 7 years ago
"Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people." It is written, that "He called them gods, to whom the word of God came:" this law is that we not be misled away after the pride and rebellion of the heathen. Parents, elders, those who take the lead in the Lord; these are whom we reverence and submit ourselves under. As well the rulers of our workplace, our Country, our Nation.

I love you god: This is a book of the Old Testament. Before Jesus was sacrificed for our sins. We Now accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Living Christ-like.
  • Nogme on Exodus 22 - 8 years ago
Circumcision and sacrifices are not allowed anymore. Since Jesus died for our sins there's no reason to be sacrificing anymore; therefore, God was not talking about this.
  • I love you god on Exodus 22 - 8 years ago
Firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me? Meaning sacrifice or circumcision? Does anyone know. Thank you
