  • Evang. Sampson on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
Exo22vs18,its a command and not a debatable one.it can only be exibite by prayer alone.Read psalm 125vs3,if the rod of the wicked rest on the righteous then u allow the witch to live.
  • Bruce on Exodus 22 - 11 years ago
I believe the point to all these laws is to point out that we all come short of the glory of God but are forgiven for Christ sake..therefore be merciful to others as God has shown mercy to us..if you are guilty of transgression of one law then you are guilty of all. That is the gospel and the wisdom of God.
  • Pastor Ezidi, Holy on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
I think what EXODUS 22:18 is saying is not pray for the witches to die rather we should be seeking for their repantance in other for them to Christ even Jesus said we should pray for our enemies not for them to die.
  • Disbeliever on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
Witches and wizards??!! You all live in a fantasy world!! Get a grip on real life.
  • Concern Sister on Exodus 22 - 11 years ago
To: all my Brothers & sisters debating this particular text; here how to settle the debate; go
get your Bibles and read ( Revelation 21:8). No one has to be guilty of murdering anyone, nor harbor forgiveness in their hearts, just let God Arise And His Enemies Be scattered!! It's a done deal, because its already deseeded the outcome of those who practice these things. In the meantime let's pray that God would have mercy upon them. Pray for the spirit of conviction to penetrate their hearts before Jesus returns

Exodus 22:18 is inspirational. "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live." Very clear. What could be clearer? Typical Biblical wisdom.

what is the different between the wicked and an enemy

<<<< The word of God is not debatable. If it is says let the witch die leave it just like that. May be if they start dying, it will send strong signalls to the rest of the witches and wizards to stop pestering innocent souls >>>>

Perhaps if disobedient sons ( Deuteronomy 21:18-23) are stoned to death as the Bible commands, it will send a signal and the disobedient children of others will stop their disobedience.

@Rai's comment that the original bible word meant poisoner, not witch. Now, don't you all feel a little silly? And, as "christians" talk about killing people?! Shame on you.
  • Prophet Dr. Robert Murray on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
    God's word is awesoom
  • Bahir on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
I think we have to determine what "suffer" means here, because “thou shall not kill” comes into play, the priests were given authority to punish transgressors of the Torah. However “eye for an eye” was also part of the Law.
  • Emmma Ohaeri on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
I find this bible portion very interesting and I have question that bothers me, what of if you have a wife who is a witch who has let you surfer for long before you discovered? Please send me a prayer point that is adequate.
  • Godwin Kisimba on Exodus 22:31 - 11 years ago
God had spoken to Noah and his family not to eat flesh with blood (Genesis9:4) as well as to us ( Leviticus 17:12) any flesh killed by beast still has blood but the blood should be poured into the dust ( Leviticus 17:13). Thus holy people don't eat blood.
  • Zika on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
The word of God is Yes and Amen! God is not a man that He will lie. As we must keep His words, “we shall not suffer a witch to live”. Therefore with constant prayer and fasting witches and wizards must not live but either repent or suffer consequences in Jesus’ Name.! Amen. Exodus 22:18.
  • Sara on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
I have been engaged in an intense spiritual warfare with a genuine natural witch for over 10 years. NEVER in my wildest dreams prior to this did I ever believe they existed! So far I have the upper hand and I learned invaluable methods to counterattack and minimize and stop her demonic evil. I have only done so with prayer in the Name of Jesus. I will never physically harm this unrepentant witch - I always give her to God because He is the One she must answer to.
  • Raymond on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
Thou shalt not suffer a sorceress to live, Exodus 22:18. Do you know that there are some individual in your life, family, school, and business that until they die you will never have your peace, breakthrough, favor and prosperity? The bible says Any woman/man using unnatural powers or secret arts against your progress is to be defeated. Start praying, and defeat them… In Jesus’ name.
  • Atta Danso on Exodus 22:18 - 11 years ago
I personally believe we (believers) should pray for witches to repent and not to kill them. Also a witch is a human being but the "spirit of witchcraft" is evil, so our prayers should chase the spirit of witchcraft, and repentance for the witch. Because God does not want Human beings He created to die and go to hell.
  • André on Exodus 22 - 12 years ago
    @Luckysam ,
As all such names have meaning, King James only gave the meaning of God’s names instead of the names themselves, except in few occurances.
    God bless you.
  • LUCKYSAM CHYBYKE on Exodus 22:18 - 12 years ago
WHY DID THE KING JAMES VERSION AFTER KNOWING THAT THE NAME JEHOVAH, GOD, LORD, JESUS AND CHRIST IS NOT THE NAME OF THE ALMIGHTY AND STILL USES THEM INSTEAD OF USING THE DEVINE NAME THAT ENDURETH FOREVER. YAHWEH, ELOHIM, YAHOSHUA AND MESSIAH.
  • Mercy. on Exodus 22:18 - 12 years ago
Ezekiel 33 vs 11...God is not interested in d death of anyman than for him to repent. If a witch repent let him live, if not pray and let God deal with him
  • Lombi mbiya on Exodus 22:18 - 12 years ago
Surely and truly God says in his word sorceress meaning witches or wizards shall not inherit the kingdom of God. And that is final.
  • Lombi mbiya on Exodus 22:18 - 12 years ago
The word of God is clear it cannot lie .Its says suffer not a witch to live so if a wicth or wizard refuse to repent and give their life to Christ they have to die for me it is a must because they make the innocent to suffer.
  • Joshua C on Exodus 22 - 12 years ago
One thing helpful to remember before critiquing the King James Bible is that it is the product of 47 scholars who worked on it for about 3 years as they were commissioned to do by the king. The rendition they provided is the best and most accurate translation from the original text. To try to say what it says means something else is tantamount to saying you are smarter than the best and brightest minds of that time which is not likely. The end result of discussing Bible semantics with people who take exception with something they disagree with is you arrive at the same place where the King James Bible already is. You can choose to believe the Bible or to not believe it, but please don't try to argue with what it says. Thanks!
  • Colin Evans on Exodus 22:18 - 13 years ago
I think its funny how now they are trying to say "nah we never thought this was true and oops sorry for killing all those people way back then", when in reality yes witchs were alive back then and still are today, their faith was one that even threw damnation they still wanted to help others with their knoweldge of herbs, their faith came first and will probly still be around for thousands of years. Dont sit here and pretend that this didnt happen if your going to derive your hate from the bible dont pick and choose...
  • PENNY on Exodus 22:25 - 13 years ago
    I LIKED THE EXPLINATATION
  • Rai on Exodus 22:18 - 13 years ago
the original work in the Hebrew was M'khashepah which means poisoner. Funny how it's been twisted around to mean something that wasn't said.
  • Joshua D on Exodus 22 - 13 years ago
The ten commandments were given for a close spiritual walk with God, and meant for each person to keep individually. What follows in this chapter and later is the law given to Israel as a nation. Same as God wants us to abstain from all sin, but we also have the laws of our nations to keep. Where it references a witch here that would be speaking of any false prophet that taught contrary to God's word and lead others astray. So to compare to modern day, we are all still forbidden to murder, but to someone who breaks the law of the nation (murder, rape, terrorism, etc) there is still a sentence of death.
  • Robert Bebout on Exodus 22 - 14 years ago
