But perhaps the customs of Midian had delayed circumcision to a later time in life. But just like Ishmael and Esau, the sons of Keturah (who with Abraham produced the Midianites) would have been circumcised. Did this practice continue in the ensuing generations or had it fell out of practice among these other descendants of Abraham? Obviously, Moses probably didn't know much about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. His mother nursed him for 2-3 years and then when weaned, he went to live with the Egyptian princess. He may not have had a lot of contact with is family after that time. In Midian, under Jethro's instruction Moses may have learned some about God, but because the Midianites were not descendants of the promise from Abraham, they may have fallen away from relationship from Him. Jethro may have been one exception, and even then, he may not have known much about the life and times of Jacob and family. They lived a ways from the land of Canaan and Midian was isolated with the sea and mountains surrounding their land. Apparently, Zipporah knew why God rose up to kill Moses. She knew that her son's privates looked different from her husbands and perhaps Jethro had taught her about circumcision, but Moses refused to do it. So, Zipporah was a Godsend, along with Jethro, as we will later learn.
Moses took his family to Egypt. He must have known that there would be danger for them, but he must not have wanted to be separated from them or else God had instructed Him to take them. We know these children were under 40 years old, but we do not know if they were very young or young men. Imagine your mom taking a sharp stone and using it to circumcise you! Yikes.

Harlots wore a lot of jewelry and makeup to ''advertise'' who they were in the old testament, but I see nothing wrong with it if done tastefully. God likens true Israel to a bride ( His bride) and mentions jewelry in Ezekiel chapter 16 verses 11-13. If God Himself is fine with it, we should be, also.

Some bible thumpers will pull Deuteronomy chapter 22 verse 5 and assume that is what that means, but that pertains to unnatural sexual acts. In other words, a man is not to take the place of a woman in a sexual act and vice versa for a woman. (Leviticus chapter 18 verse 22; Romans chapter 1 verses 26-32) to name some examples.
When The Lord gave His life for us on the cross, He descended into heaven. But, He went to the 'prison' to preach to the souls who didn't have an opportunity to know Him in 1 Peter chapter 3 verses 18-20. Moses said that the Hebrews might not believe him that the LORD had appeared to him or wouldn't listen to him, just like some people won't listen or believe the Gospel.All we can do is pray for them.

My family have moved from Catholic to Born Agains and hate Mormonism and I am commenting on a medium I believe does not accept Mormonism and I have had some negative replies but because of Mormonism, I understand the Bible more than most not of my faith and this because of the Book of Mormon and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And my comments are influenced by what I know from study and will defend my faith for I have examined my faith.
I like this King James Version of the Bible, which is a little different than what I am used to.
For example, this version uses the upper and lower casing of LORD and Lord more often.
I know I will suffer in Christ for my belief in Christ all the days of my life and I find it a joy and pleasure.
My heart's desire is that my heart may be correct with Him.
That I may be unto God a burnt offering and sweet savour in our Lord, Jesus Christ, for I have no other desire.
Please know that I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying here. It is indeed sad that Jesus who had no sin, would come and die for a world full of sin. It's also sad to know that people still continue to reject the love that Christ showed and the gift He has to offer to those who have the heart to receive that gift. Sad indeed!

You need to take time in the Book of Acts. This is the Church, Jesus died for. He didn't disappear and leave them alone. Only until Pentecost. When that Mighty Rushing Wind came through the Upper Room, of The Promised Holy Spirit; the disciples were filled so full of His presence that they exploded in praise as the Tongues of Fire they were seeing lept around the room over their heads. It was more than glorious.
The people in the street saw and heard the disciples. They were energized with indescribable joy. This is what Jesus had told to them! This was the fulfilling of promise. The church was up and aflame. It spilled out into the streets. The disciples were no longer afraid and doubting; barely hanging onto faith.
We can have that. When we obey Jesus and do as he said at the end of the Book of John; we will experience that power and joy.
I hear very little preached on FAITH very much. Jesus is still saving and healing people. Very few have a pulsating faith to reach out and take hold of Jesus. Does anyone know 10 healing scriptures by heart?
We all need to ask Jesus for another refilling of the Holy Spirit. If you feel dry and lifeless, just ASK HIM! We need the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit. If we read and read and read the Bible and there is no outflow onto others; we're clogged.
How do I know all this? I've rarely spoken on this. I know that the Holy Spirit does Home visitations. I experienced an event that is burned into my heart and brain and eyes. That's how I know the Holy Spirit is looking for those who will take Him at His Word. We are his disciples now.
If all that happens is, in a chair railing and ranting against the Jews of Israel; not much is going to happen. The Jews are Jesus's personal business. He don't need your help.

I don't believe that we can ever hold God responsible for birth defects or appearance of diseases such as cancers or deteriorating organ functions in adults. I realize that we enjoy blaming Satan for all our woes, but in fact that is not always the case. God created mankind perfect though man chose to go his own way being filled with pride so as to be like God. This fallen nature that we refer to as the sin nature, has corrupted every facet of our being: spirit, soul & body. And so death is the prospect of every living organism, & it may well come as a blessed relief to mankind so as to be released from this deterioration & ageing of our bodies. But the unsaved believes that death ends it all for them & so they should enjoy life to the fullest, whatever the cost.
And yet, after a sinner receives God's Salvation, the new believer still remains in the body of corruption & suffer the same fate as any other. But the spirit of man is renewed (born again) that he might have his sins forgiven & have the hope of everlasting life with his Creator, that which the unsaved won't receive nor is it their desire. So we can also see that the same unsaved now could taunt the Saviour, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save", not realizing that it was for their sins that He came & gave His Life on the cross, but they would rather mock Him & God's provision of a sacrificial Lamb.
God, in a moment, made for us the greatest payment that we could never hope to make. Man, for eternity, will suffer the consequences of his rejection of that payment.
In verse 21 even though God knew that Pharaoh would harden his heart he still made sure that he received warning. This shows that God didn't want to destroy Pharaoh but he gave him time to change his thinking and ways.

It is easier to sympathize for Judas saying it was scripted for him to betray our Lord?
Why should Judas be damned when he only fulfilled prophecy?
Have we sympathized to our Lord?
Is it not sad that because of evil men our Lord was crucified?
Or do we say, Oh well, it had to be that way?
When the scriptures say God is merciful and longsuffering, we have no idea how longsuffering our God is regarding us.
Would it not be an unbearable thought to find out an evil king commanded that every male infant from age 2 under be slaughtered because you or I was born?
Do we sympathize with Judas? or our Lord?
Our Lord came to save us from the Judas' who killed the prophets and resist the Holy Ghost.
If I can just add one thing to some already great answers, all the armies of the world could not have taken Christ. No earthly power could have taken Him. Jesus Christ came and freely gave Himself to the cross, fulfilling the purpose for which He came.
The people in the street saw and heard the disciples. They were energized with indescribable joy. This is what Jesus had told to them! This was the fulfilling of promise. The church was up and aflame. It spilled out into the streets. The disciples were no longer afraid and doubting; barely hanging onto faith.
We can have that. When we obey Jesus and do as he said at the end of the Book of John; we will experience that power and joy.
I hear very little preached on FAITH very much. Jesus is still saving and healing people. Very few have a pulsating faith to reach out and take hold of Jesus. Does anyone know 10 healing scriptures by heart?
We all need to ask Jesus for another refilling of the Holy Spirit. If you feel dry and lifeless, just ASK HIM! We need the anointing oil of the Holy Spirit. If we read and read and read the Bible and there is no outflow onto others; we're clogged.
How do I know all this? I've rarely spoken on this. I know that the Holy Spirit does Home visitations. I experienced an event that is burned into my heart and brain and eyes. That's how I know the Holy Spirit is looking for those who will take Him at His Word. We are his disciples now.
If all that happens is, in a chair railing and ranting against the Jews of Israel; not much is going to happen. The Jews are Jesus's personal business. He don't need your help.
Don't dry up on the ground like a piece of toast, that the birds come and carry away.
Be refilled with oil; be anointed by the Holy Spirit.
And yet, after a sinner receives God's Salvation, the new believer still remains in the body of corruption & suffer the same fate as any other. But the spirit of man is renewed (born again) that he might have his sins forgiven & have the hope of everlasting life with his Creator, that which the unsaved won't receive nor is it their desire. So we can also see that the same unsaved now could taunt the Saviour, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save", not realizing that it was for their sins that He came & gave His Life on the cross, but they would rather mock Him & God's provision of a sacrificial Lamb.
God, in a moment, made for us the greatest payment that we could never hope to make. Man, for eternity, will suffer the consequences of his rejection of that payment.
I don't know. I believe the son's of perdition have much to do with the evils of this world, including birth defects.
But this I know, Christ went about doing good and healed multitudes of people.
If persons are born defected, Christ can heal them.
It's sad to know they took our God and hung Him on a tree saying "others he saved but himself he cannot."
When goodness is deliberately destroyed, we can only expect bad to happen.
