Brenda, verse 6 does not say all the "beast" of Egypt died. It says all the cattle of Egypt died. Verse 25 says,"and the hail smote through out all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast,... Beast means horses, pigs, donkeys, sheep, goats, dogs, etc.
  • Hector on Exodus 9 - 8 years ago
Brenda read verse 6 and verse 25 in the KJV again, there is a big difference..
  • Brenda on Exodus 9 - 8 years ago
So in verse 6 all the beasts in the fields of the Egyptians were slain, and then somehow when the hail came in verse 25, the beasts of the fields were back again. Did some years pass between the different plagues?

Hello Pat Murphy, it sound like you are judging Almighty God. The God of Ex. 9:16 is the same God of Mark 15:25 which says, "And it was the third hour, and they crucified him. And the same in John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Isa. 55:8, 9 also Isa. 29:16 proving God is the same God in all Scripture. God bless us all and also in the understanding of his Word. Praise Jehovah in the highest through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

Shedrack, it was ultimately to prove to the Egyptians that there IS A GOD and that HE IS GOD and that God is in control and also to save the Egyptians...to prove to them that He does exist... SO the Egyptians would Love God and respect and worship HIM instead of idols of rams and fish gods... they worshiped everything except the true God. God was proving He existed and His power.
  • Katie on Exodus 9 - 10 years ago
Pat Murphy. God is protecting his own. He is showing everyone that HE is in control. Not man like men still think to this very day. Man isn 't in control. Man is nothing without God. Man can succeed at nothing without God. Man has nothing without God. It gives me peace of mind to know that God is the one in control and not man. Gods wisdom and power and knowledge trumps all mans. HIS is infinite.
  • Pat Murphy on Exodus 9:16 - 10 years ago
This does not seem like a God of Love.

God hardened Pharoah 's heart everytime he performed a sign or a wonder. Or, one can say, Pharoah harden his own heart everytime God performed a sign or a wonder. He refused to let the people go even after seeing all the miracles.

This scripture shows the importance of resisting peer pressure. We each have a personal accounting with Jehovah God and we should not allow the bad actions of others to keep us from doing what is required of us or we will have to suffer the same consequences that they face.
  • Caligadhle@hotmail.co.za on Exodus 9:14 - 10 years ago
I think about that God has no IMAGE, absolute and eternal, and there is none like unto Him.

The earth is the LORD's and the fullness there of. This shows all of us just how powerful GOD is, He says what He says and He means just what He says, we are living in a time that we really need to study GOD'S word and obey it because He does not play. We asHis children need to stay in His will in order for Him to protect us.
  • LINDA on Exodus 9 - 11 years ago
God is good but people do not pray enough. He knows what we are. Just going to church is not enough. When it rains, you still should pray God. Stop looking at all the bad things and just keep praising. Stop using Sunday for a day off. This is God’s day. Pray with others, stop following the wrong crowd. Stop talking about each other. Pray and protect our children. Let God know we love him much and we appreciate he loves us.

ONE by one did GOD dismantle EGYPT`S belief systems! COMFORT zones were certainly in disarray! HOW can you fight against "THE TRUE GOD"? All one can do is give in to HIS plan of SALVATION.
  • Belinda on Exodus 9 - 13 years ago
If that is how human nature can be then we have to examine our life and see where we have hardened our heart towards God and what he is saying.
  • RALPH WATERS on Exodus 9 - 13 years ago
First there is PRIDE then there is the FALL. Pharaoh could not take a servant telling him what to do, even in the name of a GOD he did not know.
TODAY, we have SUPERIORS that will not accept what you say, unless you have proof, and they will still doubt you.

SO was Pharoah much different from people of today

Only thing that changes is TIME. PEOPLE stays the same, to my sadness.
  • Roberta on Exodus 9 - 13 years ago
