I think that this scripture became and is a founded establishment of everything that will ever come after that moment, family, business, life in general. I think that what God explains here is the factual truth of how He turned nothing to something. Have you ever tried to imagine why God had to involve Himself with this in the first place. Believe what God says HE saw and how it was . without form- take a pencil and try to make a formless shape, consider it void. every child is born, you are the one who is expecting a bright future, but for him it is void and formless, you then begin to try and make a future out of it, leave every child to himself? he wouldn't survive 2 weeks. the GOD within. It is through CHRIST now that we are privileged to receive knowledge now, which without CHRIST, we had no understanding about the TRUTH.

I beleive that GOD as it is expressed in Issiah 60:19 That GOD is the Highest Light, therefore when GOD spoke to the uuter darkness "Let There Be Light " That it was darkness that had to recognize that the Highest of the High Light was in its present that the reflections of the emitting rays separated day form night and darkness from light.

What I am saying is that the Highest light ,that being GOD has always had Darkness under its scope of radar , but when GOD said let there be light it was darkness that had to bow down and recognize the power of GOD bring darkness into the fruiton of light.

As a humen we are blessed by GOD.

I am just awed that God wanted to create heaven and earth. I'm just saying have you ever really wonder why He wanted to create it in the first place.

No such thing as nothingness and/or void, what is meant here is in mankind's development the concept of the unknown, undiscovered, unfathomed mental imagery of anything is exposed to mankind as a diety and/or dieties. Mankind will spend all existence the last 14 billion years) explaining to his/her mind mental existence the unknowness until mankind discovers the reality of nothingness and that which is void, until then mankind will utilize the concept of a diety (god) in mankinds (his/her) image as what is void and unknown.

My thoughts on Genesis are so complex that few if any understand them. The Earth was without form and void tells me that the earth was destroyed and in a state of chaos. The Light is Jesus who was in the beginning as He is the Alpha and the Omega--the beginning and the end. He is the Word of God and He is God and He was in the beginning with God and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. If one is to understand Genesis he must understand the Word of God. Commentary on God's Word is much more complicated than just reading it. However, that being said--we must remember that even a child can understand God's Word. Jesus is the Word of God.

The translators of the King James Bible, or Authorised Version, knew the word for Heaven in this first verse of scripture was in the plural in the Hebrew language, yet they must have understood their exceptional regard for proper grammar forced them to translate it deliberately in the singular in English. They must have felt certain the writer was speaking of the short period of time before the stars and the rest of the universe was created a few days later. At any rate, it is unreasonable to think they were unaware of it being a plural Hebrew word. This is not an oversight on their part by any means.

when god said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" he is referring to the people he came to earth with, his host!

I think it's telling us the creation of sky & the earth in way that the bible is telling us what was created on the earth minus what was created in the heavens other wise we would have read about the creation of the angels

It is so awesome to read what God spoke and it appeared as he said his word is powerful and who can deny that there is a God.

Mario that's correct and if you notice 2 of every flesh got on Noah's boat and you can find Cain's people in Genesis 15:17 and even in 1 Chronicles 2:55 where they moved in keeping the books for the Israel. Not a good people as you read from what they did through the word.

God created man and woman on the 6th day. But Adam was created after the sabath day (7th) is this not correct? Did'nt Cane's wife come from the 6th-day creation?

to whom is the lord referring when he says lets make men in our likeness. is he referring to his angels? this would be the only explaination that seems to be sensible to me.
