  • Barbara Montgomery on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
God created the heavens and earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th. God is great.
  • Kim on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
@Matthew. You're right! God(Father) created heaven and earth. The spirit of God (Holy Spirit) moved over the water and the light was Jesus. Father, Holy Spirit and the Son all in the first day! Notice he saw the Light and it was good not the darkness. He divided the darkness(evil) from the light Jesus. The name darkness here in Hebrew is something like monster.
  • Mabini on Genesis 1:2 - 12 years ago
It is clear in Isaiah 45:18 for thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that form the earth and made; He has established it,He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited:
  • Pat Kgoadi on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
george mbui, By God we always understand that there are three-God the Father, God the Son and God the holy spirit. You only need to know, just like you know that the peach fruit is 'skin', juice and pith, even before you bite.
  • Peter k matata on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
i don't real understand why Jesus loved us so much even to die for us but one thing i know is,'when one comes to himself/herself and returns to the father thru Jesus, the father runs to him' and this gives me the confidence to always confess my sin.
  • Aaron on Genesis 1:2 - 12 years ago
The concept of darkness would not be perceived without light. God says, "I form the light, and create darkness:..." (Is. 45:7) So, Wesley was wrong in stating "God did not create this darkness". God created all. Before there was anything, any matter, any universe, there was God.
  • Daniel on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
The book of Genesis is soooooooooo wonderful! It shows the Father being our Father.
  • Matthew on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
I believe in the beginning here in genisis three spirits combined. God the father, God the son and God the Holy spirit. Three in one.
  • Rosalina on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
This is my respond to George mbui's Genesis Chapter 1 comment about verse 27 on 9/09/2013, 1:40pm: It is the "Word" who was with God at that time. You will see that in John 1:1.
  • Rosalina on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
  • George mbui on Genesis 1:27 - 12 years ago
Bible says, God made man in his image, the same bible says " let us make man in our image and likeness, my question is, who else was with God in this time,of mans creation? Asist me on this please.
  • SHELDON PILLAY on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We have been given authority over everything on Earth..... So why fear
  • Full on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
The theory of evolution that says all life evolved from water holds some basis of truth in that in the beginning there was only darkness and water. The earth was covered with water therefore when God made man all the element's in water were in the earth. This is way scientist are deceived by the theory
  • Pst Rotimi Emmanuel on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Almost every body in d world dont know God.even including so called christians & pastors. bcus if we know him,we will obey his words. The three say God can save them or otherwise, they will not bow.But today we bow for many things, hence we dont know God
  • Henry on Genesis 1:27 - 12 years ago
God created man in His image and likeness...this construes to mean we 're met to be as Him both in spiritual and physical form. It's agreed that we made from the dust but the breathe of life given to man and the freewill to distingush the right from wrong make man takes after God. When we do the right thing, we exhibit the perfect nature of Him.
  • Ogundinakin clement on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Who is with god in the beging
  • Syanda percival dube on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
when you open the bible, firstly you see the words'in the begining God,' this does not mean the begining of God, but the begining of God's thoughts or plans about the universe.God does not have a begining but things have a begining,God was there before the begining begines.amen our God is great!!
  • Thomas on Genesis 1:2 - 12 years ago
Some believe the creation took millions of years to be created. I have that same thought as the measurement of time didn't begin until light was introduced so that didn't occur until Genesis 1 Verse 3. I believe that the creation of all that was therein began thereafter.
  • Evangelist Onyeka Onwenna on Genesis 1:24 - 12 years ago
I titled a book "All Wise God".In this book,I expatiated on the subject;God's unfathomable wisdom in His creative ability. God being whom He is, used the earth and sea to bring forth all other creatures. This He did to prove the level of His intelligence. The same creative ability He gave to man to operate with.
  • Ochimana ojonugwa on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Genesis 1 deals with the creatures
  • Timothy Yakich on Genesis 1:26 - 12 years ago
I am currently attending the Pennsylvania Bible Institute and we are currently covering the Old Testament (Survey). I recently read the Genesis 1 - 4 account - 4 times - and the last time I read it I noticed that 1:26 states, "And let THEM have dominion..." I see on this site that Wesley's comment glosses over this by changing the "them" to "him". My question: did God create many men and women ("man") then choose/create "Adam" and "Eve" separate from the rest of the general public afterwards? This makes sense to me because when God created the other animals He created many. So why would He only create one man first, and without a mate? I look forward to your insight. Blessings, Tim.
  • Evangelist Onyeka Onwenna on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
God lives in eternity.HE lives in the past, present and future.HE is self existence and without Him,there was nothing.
  • MORRIS on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
whatever you may think was created by God.He blessed and gave us dominion over every creature.
  • Angela on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
I really don,t think we should worry about where GOD come from. what we should do be thankful and forever gracious that he chose us, to be honest he really didn't need us for anything but because he loved us.GOD is always and he's powerful he gave his only son JESUS to die for our sins so we can have eternal life.ALL I can say is thankful.
  • Prince carr Akyeamfo on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
In this case, God is a spirit and no one can identify where he is from and even the type of tribe he is from, all we have to know is God is a spirit.
  • James on Genesis 1:11 - 12 years ago
    god's good
  • Avon on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
In this case we offer no answer from where God were Created there should be Sum sort of an explanation to from where God Came... it would be false to say that God was just there...its impossible... but I know for a fact that God has has a good explanation for that and when we are ready he will revile it to us... also the bible states that Our Wisdom is his Foolishness...and no one can grasp his infinite wisdom...and also saying that there are things you will not understand in the word of god and the bible states do not go too deep i to the word of God...Believe him for his word and live the life he wants us to live...and if any one wanna know how can 3 become one...ExG Take and egg = God 1. the Shell = Father 2.Yolk = Son 3. White = Spirit. all those three in one u get a Egg so when you add up Father Spirit Son you get God. and if you wanna know how you feel God How can u see God.... Step out to your Garden and Try to catch the wind or the breeze... or the Air out of the Ac...Steam Out of boiling water... you know & feel it but you cant see it or touch it...God is the same You feel him when your connected with him...I pray that this words will touch your lives... In Jesus Name Amen. :)

Who can define God ? Certainly none. Therefore, He deserve to be worshiped at all tmes
  • Mark John on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
My comments on this verse are - No scientist, no historian, no philosopher and no one on the earth has so far been able to prove as to Heavens and Earth and all what are there in it have been created by any body else than God. Also, there is no other record in this regard than the Bible. From the miraculous birth process that takes place in a mother's womb, we can understand that no power on this earth and no scientist on this earth has any role in it and no human power, or any other power, can cause a perfect living human being to come out from mother's womb. Therefore, we can understand and will have to believe that the only power in the universe which we know from the Bible as Almighty God has created Heavens and Earth out of nothing.
  • Samuel on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Responding to Clif Bonvillian's question: God the Father was speaking to the Godhead- The Son (Jesus Christ who is also the Word) and the Holy Spirit. See that verse 26 also where He also requested that They create Man in the nature of God....
